Default WR Draft Prospects

Guys I like that I have seen are Blackmon, Wright (really liking him---tremendous athlete), Nick Toon, Ryan Broyles (even with injury) and love the Jordan White kid from the MAC. Do not like Devier Posey, he is a dropper. I think there is some talent later on like Heck says when it comes to skill guys. Eric Page is a tremendous all around player that any team could use, but we already have Cribbs. Badass player though if you want to take time to convert him to slot and returning kicks, lining up in the backfield, emergency QB, scout team demon and trainer assistant.

Nice! Warning: I'm going to dare to implement some humor. I had a post that included all the WRs in youtube videos as as well as cut and pastes of pre-draft scouting reports accompanying each guy. Unfortunately, those aired after Gabe started hating his old buddy Flugel for not joining hands in singing Koombaya toward "The Father, The Son and the Holy Grandson" with all those that got saved before the 2012 draft.

Here's some applicable videos I suppose:

I think Wright is a great option for us at #22 overall. I'd rather add speed to yank Safeties out of the loaded boxes.

Here's a guy that I think we can steal in round 2 from the same college as Greg Jennings:

I believe that based on their combines Floyd and Wright will fight to be the #2 WR taken. I do believe that Blackmon, Floyd and Wright will all be gone before the #22 pick.

If you wait until #22 to look at upgrading the WR position then Randle might just be the best available. Jeffery just scares the hell out of me. He could be extra special but he could also be the biggest bust of the draft. If you are considering him, you need to do your homework. Internet reports are that he is well over 230 lbs and not in very good shape. He was physical but not fast and had trouble separating last year.

I do like Joe Adams and Steven Hill as WRs that can be had later in the draft.

I've never been a fan of Alshon Jeffries, to me he always got more hype than he deserved. Y-town mentioned he was over 230 but I heard from one of the draft gurus he may be over 250 and his stock is dropping faster than home prices in 2007! I guess you could make him a TE if he knows how to block but his 40 time will go up from the reported 4.55 to mid 4.6s or higher. Two thumbs down.

For what it's worth failed attempt at humor aside, this is not a thread that belongs in this section, which is also why I didn't move your WR thread. Neither does any other thread not focused on individual players. See sticky.

And also, it might do you well to remember, I was the one per usual swimming against the tide of popular opinion when I took up with the idea of RG3 being our franchise guy. The forum has done a 180 since then ...and that just goes to show you how intelligent our members are.

Todd McShay's sleeper WR of this years draft - Danny Coales of Virginia Tech. 4.43 speed, great hands and runs great routes.

My only question is; why is he rated as a end of the draft pick or possible UDFA. 30+ other receivers rated above him.

Here's how you become a draft "sleeper"... Or a "steal" on draft day. Thomas Mayo was 5'10" 160 lbs. coming out of high school. He commits to Concord. He stays even as D1 offers start coming in. He follows his head coach to Cal-Penn.

Now he's 6'2". He runs in the low 4.4's. Has stellar hands. He's the kind of kid that will run through a brick wall for you.

I honestly believe he's going to be a solid pro. And he's probably a 5th or 6th rounder.

Guys that weren't ready for primetime at 17 or 18 grew and matured. That's how you find Garcons and Colstons.

A guy that I find interesting is Stephen Hill. Big body, wide catch radius, and good speed for his size. He played in Georgia Tech's quirky offense, so he didn't see a lot of balls or been asked to run a lot of different routes.

I'll take a polished guy and baller like Broyles any day for the spot he probably goes with his injury. I have a gut that he will be a good one for years and years, just steady year in and year out. I can see him being a Welker type who just puts up mad numbers and is a steady go to guy for the QB.

It is worth the wait for him to recover IMO, but that is given how he tests out with the injury.

Isn't Broyles more of a candidate to be slot WR?
