Surprised to see some love for Aaron Rogers, two #3's shows that the guy gets mad respect.
My top 10 would be...
1. Drew Brees
2. Peyton Manning
3. Philip Rivers
4. Brett Favre
5. Aaron Rogers
6. Tom Brady
7. Matt Shauab
8. Tony Romo
9. Eli Manning
10. Joe Flacco
I would feel weird about putting Favre so high if he didn't just come off one of the best years of his entire career, literally. I have always felt Eli Manning was underrated. He's not as good as his brother, no, but he's still a damn talented QB with a Super Bowl ring on his hand.
11-20 is a bit harder to draw the line.
11. Ben Roethlisberger
12. Matt Ryan
13. Donovan McNabb
14. Carson Palmer
15. Kyle Orton
16. Matt Hasselbeck
17. Jay Cutler
18. Jason Campbell
19. David Garrard
20. Alex Smith
I gave Orton some points because I think he showed that he can run an offense and that he has the skill to win football games in 2009 with the Broncos. If he can keep his job through 2010, and Denver decides they want to chance it with Tebow or Quinn, Orton shouldn't have much trouble finding a team who wants his services. David Garrard was a pro-bowl QB last year, yeah because other players didn't want to go due to injuries but hey, Pro Bowl! Alex Smith showed the entire NFL what San Fransisco saw in him when they drafted him years ago. It's finally looking like he will emerge into a premier NFL QB. 2010 will be his year to put up or shut up.
...Aaand the rest
21. Chad Henne
22. Matt Cassel
23. Mark Sanchez
24. Vince Young
25. Matt Stafford
26. Matt Moore
27. Jake Delhomme
28. Kevin Kolb
29. Matt Leinart
30. Josh Freeman
31. Trent Edwards
32. AJ Feeley
I'm not sure about Josh Freeman, or Tampa Bay, that's why he got ranked so low. I think Matt Cassel with a full year under his belt in the KC system will be improved. I'm not so sure that Matt Leinart will play better than Jake Delhomme in 2010, even with all the weapons Arizona has, and Derek Anderson would not fare much better. Matt Moore's play was excellent, that's why Carolina didn't feel Delhomme had a place on their team anymore. If he continues his strong play, the Panthers won't need to worry about rushing one of their rookies to be ready. AJ Feeley has been named the Rams starter, its really only a matter of time before they cave and let Sam Bradford run... as wild as he can with that Rams offense. They're a ways away from re-emerging as the greatest show on turf.
