I moved towards southern Ohio before last season started and got to watch a lot of Bearcats ball here.
That being said, I really got to dig into Pike pretty hard.
Good size, strong arm, lanky frame with plenty of room to grow, nice spiral and zip, lowest redzone turnover ration out of all the qbs that class, highest redzone scoring ratio out of all the qbs that class, good pocket presence and could find the open guy.
Problem is he's a project with that lanky frame of his and would need a full season in the weight room to get to the point he wouldn't get killed the first big hit he took. Plus, just like Claustrich, he didn't play any real competition, mainly speedbumps. Add the injuries in there with his offense was based around Gilyard opening a path for their te to be open all day and looking back I'm not so sure he would be a great qb now, but at the time I was all over him almost as bad as shep over Harrington, Rodgers or Clustrich.
I think he's still got a shot, but it's going to take the right team and qb coach. NE would have been a PERFECT fit for him.
