I gotta make it a point to try to get as acquainted as possible with all of the QB prospects this year. Not that it matters because alot of the college studs turn into pro duds. And then you get guys that weren't even the favorite QBs on campus playing better than the preferred guys like Matt Cassell's NFL career vrs Matt Leinart's NFL career or Tom Brady's NFL career vrs Drew Henson's NFL career or Brad Johnson's NFL career vrs Danny Kanell's NFL career.
Then we've seen guys emerge that never really appeared any college football highlight shows during the scholarship like Tony Romo, Joe Flacco, Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme, Jeff Garcia... Moral of the story? You never know what the right NFL environment with the right training can do for the right prospect. Of this last slew of names I mentioned - only ONE of the guys was an instant success while the others either required training in different leagues, different camps or they had Parcells telling people 3 years wasn't enough time to put his young QB on center stage yet. Meaning? There's alot more to this gig than masterign it within 3 preseason football games as we've been hearing around our watercooler.
