I got to hope there is a better solution then Mitchell as our #5 WR. I'd be OK with him being signed to the practice squad but if comes down to Mitchell and Engram I'd rather Engram get out of his rocking chair and suit up for us.

Engram can find a hole in the seam and set down in it and also has some nice hands. then again, Engram at 37 isn't going to play much special teams so Mangini isn't going to want to keep a guy as a #5 WR who can't get on the field as a special teamer.

How about just keep Alex Smith and call Moore a hybrid WR/TE. I'm good with 4 WRs as long as we have someone on the practice squad to reach to if there is an injury. WE play more 2TE formations then we do spreading the filed anyway so Moore split out or in the slot works for me as a hybrid WR/TE. That makes Alex Smith a hybrid FB/TE and and Smith can play special teams pretty well.
