A QB Holmgren could trade for: Matt Flynn

A one year starter at LSU, Flynn came to the Packers with very low expectations. The 7th round pick could have ended up being stashed on the practice squad or stuck as a #3 QB.
Instead, the athletic QB outperformed 2nd round pick Brian Brohm, eventually becoming Aaron Rodgers' top understudy. Packers observers report that Flynn has improved his arm strength, and the super-smart Aaron Nagler believes Flynn is the next Matt Hasselbeck.
What you're getting from Flynn is an accurate QB who's very familiar with a WCO. He's completed 66% of his passes in pre-season action, throwing 3 TDs without dishing out a pick. He's also displayed quick feet, which is important for an offense that requires the quarterback to rapidly go through his progressions and hit the open target.
There were some reports this spring that the Browns showed interest in Flynn, and that interest could increase if the Browns eventually transition to a full-blown WCO. In many ways, he's similar to Colt McCoy, but Flynn's proven that he can go through his progressions and hit the right target.
As has been mentioned before, McCoy struggled when his roommate Jordan Shipley wasn't open and would too often bird-dog his targets. Because McCoy's a smart guy, it's likely that he'll be able to correct those issues.
However, hard work and good smarts don't always translate into quick decision-making. If McCoy struggles, one could envision the team bringing in Flynn to be an alternative WCO option.
