Lessons From The Packers

Posted 02-07-2011 at 08:19 AM by Enigmatic Evil

Watching the Green Bay Packers win the Super Bowl last night really got me to thinking. How could a team that had FIFTEEN players on the injured reserve, a team that lost THREE more players during the Super Bowl game, win the Super Bowl game?

Last Night was a great game. Watching that game come down to the wire while the Steelers tried multiple attempts to come back. Watching Aaron Rodgers receivers make costly drops time and again while his throws were virtually pin-point perfect....

Eric Mangini: Double Take

Posted 01-15-2011 at 12:32 PM by Enigmatic Evil

Eric Mangini joined the team and left the team under very similar circumstance. Many were torn over his initial acquisition. Many were split over his unceremonious departure. The reasons for that are part of which I wish to discuss here.

Mangini joined the team in the wake of the Romeo Crennel / Phil Savage departure. The team hired Mangini, and to be honest he must have sold Lerner well to get the job he did. Coach/GM... a guy who had mixed grades from his time with the Jets landed...

A Year In Review

Posted 01-07-2011 at 08:13 AM by Enigmatic Evil

This was a very up-and-down season which included some ridiculously high expectations not met by the fan base and also included the growth of a team slowly coming together under a cohesive front office for the first time in a decade.

After the 2009 season which was by and large a huge disappointment for all Browns fans, we were quick to forget the 1-11 start to that season as we dove head first into 2010 and acted like the sky was falling yet again but if things weren't like a natural...

This was spawned by reading this article...

So we won a game that we should have lost dead to rights against the worst team in the NFL. Delhomme threw two ugly picks but really that's nothing new for him so I'm not surprised there. Hillis had a monster game and I'm proud that he's continued his tear. 3 TD's bring him over 10 for the season, Hillis has pretty much had the most productive season of ANY running back since we returned in 1999. He's a force on the ground and he's leading...

In Defense of Jake Delhomme... a trip down Memory Lane.

(I posted this in the main forums as well, but wanted to post it on my blog so it could be quickly referenced in the future )

Some discussion in other threads had got me thinking, and that got me to do some reading, and that got me to put together this little report, now it's going to be a long one so I'm just warning you all now! I am sure some may appreciate this...

We have had 14 different Quarterbacks start games for us since returning in 1999, of those 14 QB's...
