JACOBS Field - August 28, 2011.

Kansas City Royals at Cleveland Indians

Jacobs Field, to me was the best ballpark in the entire world. I grew up with the great Indians’ teams of the 90’s. Look into my storage boxes and you will find baseballs with autographs of every Indians player of that decade I obtained from sprinting to the players’ parking lot after every game.

This game was special though. My best friends from high school, my wife, my brother and Mom all sat in the bleachers (my first time...

Wrigley Field - August 22, 2011

Atlanta Braves at Chicago Cubs

The bustling urban neighborhood of North Chicago set the tone nicely for the evening contest that would follow. Everywhere shops packed full of people. Shops were jam-packed into the narrowest of corridors that Chicago boasted as “streets”.

To say that I was looking forward to Wrigley Field on our tour of stadiums is an understatement. I ran around with my wife trying, unsuccessfully, to find some of the scenes from my childhood favorite...

Comerica Park - August 21, 2011

Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers

I was looking forward to this game for so many reasons that are likely obvious. I’m a huge Tribe fan. The Tribe were 3.5 games behind the Tigers in the AL Central going into this game. Ubaldo Jiminez, our new supposed ACE was on the mound. I got to wear an Indians hat to a huge sellout Tigers game, surrounded by 50 thousand Tiger fans.

Loved it.

Did not love the end result.

Kauffman Stadium - August 19, 2011

Boston Red Sox vs. Kansas City Royals

The initial impression of Kauffman Stadium was remarkable. The giant crown shaped digital scoreboard and relaxing sounds from the outfield waterfalls and fountains set the tone nicely. Beers were priced extremely low for a sporting event at 7.50. I guess with a team as consistently bad as the Royals, charging anything for beer and having people on hand to buy is a victory for management.

The Kansas City Hot Dog was amazing –Sour...

PETCO Park - August 15, 2011

New York Mets at San Diego Padres.

Monday was a day that will, for me, go down in infamy. I don’t think I’ve deliberately gotten as drunk as I did before leaving the house for a game since I was a teenager.

Having a bad last day in the military, getting the run around in every day possible-I came home and started sipping the Captain Morgan bottle. I mixed in some root beer once my roommate and wife started looking at me funny. Apparently it wasn't enough root beer...
