Mike Vick, Not a Falcon, Not an Eagle... but a PHOENIX

We all know the story, Michael Vick was supposed to change the NFL game, he came in and completely disrupted the league with his electrifying highlights, and fresh style of play that the NFL had ever seen. It was was headed in a good direction, the falcons were consistent playoff contenders under his reign, and then it all came crashing down. It was the single event that truly brought character to the forefront and started a series of decisions from the NFL that lead to a crackdown on NFL players that violated the rules. More strict and harsh penalties were given out, less slack was given, Mike Vick truly changed the game.

He had an illegal dogfighting crime ring, and tax fraud on his resume. He was taken down, and taken down hard. All his riches, GONE, his fame turned to infamy, and his name was tarnished, same as his career.... or was it?

After 2 years in jail, 1 year being buried on an NFL depth chart, and 3 years of being criticized, downtrodden, and deprived of game time, this dirty bird has risen from the ashes. In a series of events that rival that of a miracle, i.e. Vick being signed for a second year after lackluster production, donovan mcnabb being traded, and kevin kolb enduring a concussion.... Mike Vick took the reigns last week of the Philly Eagles and showed the world something amazing, after not playing QB in the league for almost 4 years, he came in and posted some legit numbers and almost staged a miraculous comeback. The most amazing thing, is that he looked as if he went to a Tom Brady skills clinic, yes, we saw the resurgence of the Mike Vick of yesteryear with 103 rushing yards, but also an unfamiliar side of the once electrifying superstar, he had a Brady like 103 QB rating, and had a 66% completion percentage, he passed for 175 yards and was only in for a bit more than half the game. He looked better than ever. Could the time he spent in a cell, and buried on the chart humbled him? Does Vick have his best years as an NFL QB ahead of him? Time will only tell. But I will say this, if Vick has a big game tomorrow, and the eagles win.... how do they NOT start him over Kolb? Do they trade him? What happens there?

If it happens like I think it will, this may be one of the NFL's greatest comeback stories.

I posted the above thread on TBB earlier in the week, maybe some of you saw it, maybe some of you didn't. One thing is for certain, it looks like vick put up another impressive PASSING performance as well as an electrifying rushing effort with a stat line reading like so:

21 for 34 (61% comp) 2 touchdowns and 286 yards passing

add on 37 rushing yards to that.

add to that a win....

and the Eagles may have a serious QB controversy

did I mention his 108 QB rating? Thats his second 100+ QBR game in a row, this man is playing with a vengence.
