Ohio State (15)17-0375The Buckeyes won on the road in nonconference play and now they're doing it in conference. The difference between Ohio State and Michigan State and Illinois is that the Bucks don't appear to be a team that will drop games to the lower level in the Big Ten.

Kansas16-0358The Jayhawks went into a tough environment at Hilton Coliseum in Ames and took Iowa State's best punch, ducked and came out fine. Marcus and Markieff Morris are doing for KU what the Lopez twins did for Stanford. They are becoming as difficult of a matchup as an inside duo in the country.

Syracuse17-0340The Orange have played all their games in two states, but that's OK. It doesn't matter. Syracuse finds ways to win with great balance from Brandon Triche, Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph. The freshmen will develop here soon.

4 (1)
Duke15-1324The Blue Devils looked mortal in the loss at Florida State -- the same Seminoles team that lost at Auburn. Duke struggled from the perimeter, shooting 31 percent. Duke won't likely lose at Cameron, but the sledding on the road in the ACC -- the true road games -- will be tough the rest of the way.

5 (5)
Pittsburgh16-1323The Panthers are the most experienced team in the Big East and are proving it with their ability to lock in and win road games like at Providence and most recently a runaway win at Georgetown.

6 (6)
San Diego State18-0292The Aztecs continue to take every team's best shot in the Mountain West. The UNLV game was physical, but Kawhi Leonard and Malcolm Thomas are up for the challenge and don't back down.

7 (7)
Villanova15-1290The Wildcats were able to withstand a strong first half from Louisville and are poised to make this a three-team race in the Big East with Pitt and Syracuse.

8 (11)
Purdue15-1272The Boilermakers continue to plow through the Big Ten but should be tested quite heavily at Minnesota on Thursday. Purdue has had tremendous balance of late and has the look of a real Big Ten title contender.

9 (14)
Connecticut13-2238The Huskies knocked off Texas in one of the more memorable games this season. Winning in Austin proves UConn isn't going away even as Kemba Walker and a host of freshmen figure out the game.

10 (13)
Brigham Young17-1232Jimmer Fredette can lead the Cougars to a Stephon Curry-like Davidson run in March. But he has help with Jackson Emery. Fredette's 47 points were as entertaining a watch as we've seen from one player (even Kemba Walker's display in Maui) in a game this season. The Utes will long remember this output.

11 (15)
Texas A&M15-1216The Aggies are the most underappreciated team in the top 25. Coach Mark Turgeon is doing a phenomenal job with this team and the crushing win over Oklahoma State is evidence of that. Huge game against Missouri this weekend.

12 (9)
Kentucky13-3211The Wildcats did lose on the road at Georgia, but they're still the most talented team in the SEC. Terrence Jones' 35-point game in the win over Auburn was quite a feat.

13 (10)
Texas13-3207The Longhorns lost an overtime game to UConn and then hammered Texas Tech in Lubbock to begin the Big 12. Texas still is a real threat to beat out Kansas for the Big 12 title. But even a top-three finish in league play should lead to a decent run in March.

14 (8)
Missouri15-2188If Mizzou plays all of its games at home, the Tigers will compete for the Big 12 title. But alas, the Tigers have to find a way to capture that energy on the road that they feed off of in Columbia.

15 (12)
Notre Dame14-3155The Irish are going to win a lot of games. But they can be a rough watch on the road. The blowout loss to Marquette was another example of that behavior.

16 (23)
Washington12-3140The Huskies are off to a 4-0 start in the Pac-10 and have the look of a team that could get through the conference with only a blemish or two. But that won't necessarily translate into a high seed
.

17 (28)
Temple12-381The Owls are the class of the A-10. Richmond will challenge, but the Owls have the look of a clear favorite at this juncture. Temple still goes to Duke in its toughest game remaining.

18 (16)
Illinois13-480Which Illinois team is going to show up? It's so hard to figure out which one to vote for since the Illini can really push the ball and be a tough out at home -- or a team that can't seem to close out teams like UIC and Penn State
.

18 (17)
Michigan State11-580Sort of crazy that the Spartans are still this high with five losses, but they still have some solid wins and did survive at home against Wisconsin. Michigan State is teetering but it's hard to ignore Izzo's team at this juncture.

20 (22)
Wisconsin12-479By blowing a nine-point lead late, the Badgers tossed away a game they should have won at Michigan State. If Wisconsin takes care of Illinois at home this weekend, the Badgers will be right back in the race.

21 (19)
Vanderbilt12-377The Commodores did lose to South Carolina but showed their poise in coming back to beat Georgia at home. The race in the SEC East should be tight the next two months.

22 (26)
Florida13-372The Gators are the most experienced team in the SEC and the wins over Ole Miss at home and at Tennessee show how this team is starting to mature.

23 (24)
Louisville13-352Rick Pitino may be doing one of his best coaching jobs at Louisville. This team doesn't have a star but finds a way to be a tough out wherever the Cards play.

24 (31)
Saint Mary's14-231The Gaels are one of the better shooting teams in the country. Randy Bennett has quietly put together another fantastic season and is a real threat to unseat the Zags in the WCC.

25 (25)
Cincinnati16-124The Bearcats lost their toughest game to date at Villanova. It's hard to gauge this squad so far because the nonconference schedule was so weak, but we'll find out soon enough.
