Sorry. It's Tannehill. ESPN lists him at 6'4", here he's 6'2". This is from yesterday: Draft risers Ryan Tannehill (6-2, 222), senior, QB, Texas A&M Tannehill’s NFL potential finally took off after winning the starting job during the 2010 season. So far this year, he hasn't disappointed. Tannehill has displayed much better pocket sense. Combined with his foot quickness and athleticism, he moves efficiently to avoid pressure and can re-set, either in the pocket or outside, with accurate throws. He does an excellent job of reading defenses. When he finds open receivers, Tannehill gets rid of the ball quickly and is usually on target. He is more poised than before, and doesn't panic as plays breakdown. Also, he doesn't throw the ball up for grabs to avoid sacks. Tannehill has good arm strength and does a good job of throwing the ball where only the receiver can make a play. For a player who was viewed as a likely fourth-round pick entering the 2011 season, we have heard scouts talk about him being a high second-round pick now. PROJECTED: Second round. True, but Foles throws a gorgeous ball like he came out of the womb doing it. Really effortless. I struggle to see a guy with his size, arm, and accuracy making it out of round one. Tannehill is kind of a revelation to me. I'd never even seen him play, but watched cut ups from great games (Baylor) and up and down games (OKS)... and I think the kid really is a better version of Jake Locker. How did a kid who throws like that end up at WR for two years? He has a serious arm and great accuracy. I expected to see more of a "project." If he progresses as the season continues, he could be a red-hot riser. Still runs like a WR and throws on the move well. So does Foles. Neither guy gets out of one, I bet... and if Barkley doesn't declare, those two and the Baylor kid, Griffin? Any one of them could shoot way up. That catch was indeed sick, though!! |

An interesting article in the LA Times on Barkley. Sounds like scouts aren't quite as high on him as draftniks are: Quote:

I think Barkley locked himself into the top 5 and maybe top 2 tonight against Oregon. He looked like an NFL day one starter. RGIII was phenomenal, likely doesn't make it out of the top 10. Landry Jones is top half of round one, too. Amazing QB draft when you add in Tannehill, who to me is a better version of Locker. If I'm McCoy, I know I have to start putting up some serious games to hold off all those guys. They all have legit arms, unlike last year when both Dalton and Ponder came in with questions. Year before they all had arm questions. |

| How many of those run first RB's/Wannabe QB's have won the Superbowl, again? Zero isn't it? Just saying. And LOL @ Foles being knocked for not having mobility. He's a fucking QB and yeah, that Manning and that Brady are really Mobile aren't they? Last edited by King of Kings; 11-20-2011 at 05:08 PM. |
