Too much smoke not to be a fire....Funny how Meyer excused himself from ESPN assignments this week. I hope he is the next HC, this would be huge for tOSU! Here in Jacksonville, FL where all the rednecks are big Gator fans they think Meyer is a liar among other things and pretty pissed off at him...He gave them 2 national championships and bragging rights for years so IMO they need to STFU. Who can blame an Ohio man for wanting to go home and take his dream job? |

I think Ron Zook from Illinois will soon be available after losing 6 straight...How about the red headed step child from PisSU? All kidding aside did you really think Bob Stoops who doesn't know how to win a bowl game would come back to Ohio from Oklahoma? Meyer seems to me like a no brainer of who is available. |

Now me personally I would have tried to lure away someone else. Maybe Brian Kelly from Notre Dame. Or maybe Kyle Whittingham who runs a pretty tight ship and is 6-1 in Bowl games at a school with extremely limited recruitment appeal. Or my personal favorite Bronco Mendenhall, a guy who just wins despite being HC of a smaller religious institution with tough as nails admission standards. Gary Patterson would be another great option, as would Vic Fangio. There are plenty of names out there of Coaches who would be a better fit than Urban Meyer. Of course doing something like that would require the dolts in charge to break away from their moronic tradition of only hiring Ohioans, a limited proposition if there ever was one. |

One thing about Meyer is he is going to kill em on the recruiting trail. He will get most of the great ones in Ohio and lure some very good ones from Florida where he still god-like to many around here. And if he can't get honestly there is always the good old fashioned $EC way that gets overlooked by the NCAA. |

Which i'm not cool with the $EC way. I'd also add in that Buckeye fans are VASTLY overrating the talent he supposedly churns out, although I can understand why considering the media propped him and his supposed ability up due to being a part of the corrupt $EC. Aside from Joe Haden, Carlos Dunlap and Aaron Hernandez his players have went on to mediocrity and overhype city in the NFL with the busts outnumbering the producers.

Announcement should be made in about 5 hours: Press conference scheduled Urban Meyer joins Ohio State Buckeyes as coach after 1-year hiatus, sources say - ESPN |
