I wasn't suggesting that sovereign nations or the entire world share 1 ideology. In fact, that's the last thing I want (if I understand Revelations correctly). I was just saying that differing ideologies should try and set aside some of the fundamentalist stuff when carrying out their diplomacy. The US could certainly use some help with this. And Iran isn't even in the ballpark yet.
Which is why I disagree with your remark that "Iran has never infringed on America...." Physically there's been no infringement, but Iran has most certainly ideologically infringed on our tenet of "life, liberty and the pursuit.." either by suggesting the US shouldn't have it anymore, or by denying it from it's own people. So this is why I think the ball is in Iran's court so to speak, and not the US's. A simple "hey, we're sorry, this 'death to the US' thing isn't really working out for us, and we realize it probably wasnt a very good idea." I guarantee that would get the US to the discussion table quickly and give us an opportunity to apologize for the the '50s and explain why we felt it was necessary if that's what it takes. I'm guessing cold war.
Anyway, safe travels. If you've got an iPhone and can't live without Barking Hard, download TapaTalk. It's a sweet app for the forum and really streamlines and makes navigating the site a breeze when unable to get to a computer.
