Found this interesting, just reported on MSNBC but I don't think they did the poll.

It was of likely voters in all swing states including Ohio.

When asked if they would support raising taxes on the rich (people who make over a MILLION a year) if it would help shrink the national debt, 80% on average said yes.

When asked if they would make cuts in Medicaid, Medicare, SS, etc., for the same reason, 80% on average said no.

Uh, duh. So who are these Tea Party candidates representing again? And apparently those rabid audiences weren't really listening after the gay marriage stuff.

Drop in the bucket. Those taxes are not going to change the fact that we spend way, way, WAY too fucking much on SS, Medicare and Medicaid.

The problem isn't really solved by collecting more taxes. It is the gawddamn waste this governemt enjoys with our tax dollars.

But yeah I don't see sustained growth or solving our problems by taxing millionaires. I am not one so fuck it tax them. But sooner or later they will come for my money, too.

As for SS, Medicare and Medicaid, I am reminded of the following:

“Back in the thirties we were told we must collectivize the nation because the people were so poor. Now we are told we must collectivize the nation because the people are so rich.” William F. Buckley Jr.

The liberals and conservatives are all to blame for this mess that they started back on the 10's, 20' and 30's, inching us towards Socialism.

James Madison had it correctomundo:

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents...."
--James Madison

Taxing our way through this is like pouring gasoline on a fire. Sure it's wet, but it's also going to make it worse.

The U.S. Congress sets a federal budget every year in the trillions of dollars. Few people know how much money that is so federal spending needs to be broken into simple terms to be understood. Let's put the 2011 federal budget into perspective:

U.S.income: $2,170,000,000,000
  • Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000
  • New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
  • National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
  • Recent budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000 (about 1 percent of the budget)
It helps to think about these numbers in terms that we can relate to. Therefore, let's remove eight zeros from these numbers and pretend this is the household budget for the fictitious Jones family.
  • Total annual income for the Jones family: $21,700
  • Amount of money the Jones family spent: $38,200
  • Amount of new debt added to their high-interest credit card: $16,500
  • Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
  • Because the Jones’ realized they're in trouble, they decided to become responsible and cut their spending. After a lot of posturing and wrangling, they agreed to cut a whopping $385 from their budget.

MSNBC is joke. Everyone who is not a Liberal is a terrorist and as Mafia Union boss Jimmy Hoffa says "must be taken out!". Libs and MSNBC are the biggest hypocrits in the nation - "Let's tax the rich, it will solve all our problems..." but at the same time they are giving Liberal supportors such as the mega enormous company of General Electric and others so many tax breaks they pay virtually nothing in taxes. WTF is wrong with this picture?

Let's keep spending like there is no tomorrow! That will surely solve this economic crisis! Might as well pour gasoline on the bon fire before it gets out of hand while we are at it.
