Default "200,000" Jobs added to Economy... Riiiight

Quote:
The United States added 200,000 new jobs last month, the Labor Department said Friday, a robust figure indicating that the economic recovery may finally be building up a head of steam.

The nation’s unemployment rate fell to 8.5 percent in December, from a revised 8.7 percent in November, the government said. The Labor Department also revised the number of new jobs added in November to 100,000, from 120,000.

The employment report added to a flurry of heartening economic news in December, when consumer confidence rose, manufacturing came in strong and small businesses showed signs of life. It was the sixth consecutive month that the economy added at least 100,000 jobs — not enough to restore employment to prerecession levels, but enough, perhaps, to cheer President Obama as he enters an election year.

The upward trend restored some of the ground lost this spring and summer, when global events like the earthquake in Japan and domestic ones like the debt ceiling debate slowed the American recovery to a crawl and raised fears of a second recession. Then, even signs of modest growth were dismissed as too anemic. Now, they are drawing tentative praise.

“People were very much thinking that the sky was falling,” said Tom Porcelli, an economist at RBC Capital Markets. “It’s no small victory that we’re up here, even with all these headwinds.”

Up here, Mr. Porcelli was quick to note, is none too lofty a perch.
Lowering the unemployment rate significantly would require many more jobs a month than the economy has been adding. And there are several factors that could weigh down what momentum there is.

More bullshitting here: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/07/bu...te-at-8-5.html

I was going to not post anything political but then I read this. Are you fucking kidding me?! Government is sick! From the phony unemployment rate(It's over 20%) to their spin on it that if a persons unemployment runs out they credit themselves with adding a job. You didn't add 200,000 fucking jobs, Over half of those people simply ran out of unemployment compensation while the rest landed temporary minimum wage PART TIME jobs that barely buy the gas to get to the job. Of course that's the annual Obama tradition, soon as the big box chains amp up on seasonal positions for a month he and his shitbags count it as adding jobs to the workforce and celebrate it.

All I can say is....

Fuck you to Obama and the Democrats. Fuck you for using peoples lives and misfortunes as a spinning point while ignoring law abiding Americans living in the streets while you attempt to convince your blind sheep followers that the economy is doing great everytime a massive amount of people fall off unemployment insurance. It's a lowlife thing to do and only scum would try to spin that into an agenda.

Fuck you to the GOP who are no better, trying to spin it into their corporate banker buddies creating jobs and calling those who can't get hired to any of these nonexistent jobs lazy welfare cheats. You are no better and you SHOULD be calling this Administration out on this bullshit yet you're joining on in. We know why don't we? Because you're not actually opposed to him. He's no different than your last posterboy in his fake ass cowboy hat or your current posterboy with his fake ass smile and $3000 Brioni suits bought at taxpayer expense Romney.

Folks I still see it daily and I am an asshole but I head out to the tent cities a couple times per week with food and water. There isn't any recovery and they aren't adding jobs. If they were then SoCal, Florida and Arizona wouldn't have tent cities full of homeless families that can't find work. AZ wouldn't be a destination of midwesterners with barely the gas money to get out here PRAYING they can find ANY sort of job while their kids live outa their cars. This is such bullshit and pisses me off.

Have to agree....where are these jobs.....fuzzy math to pad the stats so that the A-Hole Obama can get re-elected. You aren't fooling me Obama. California's unemployment figure is still over 11%, and that is probably still low. Count all the people who have given up....or are working part time. I have had my hours reduced lately because of the crappy economy....and I'm supposed to believe there are tons of jobs out there.........riiiiiiiiight.

And what jobs there are....are low paying, crappy jobs.....I had to take a 4+ an hour pay cut for this job....thanks Govt for sending all our good jobs overseas.

Yet they won't allow the pipeline from Canada to happen....there are jobs right there but Obama cow-tows to the environmental wack jobs for votes....FU.

BTW.....alot of the so-called jobs created last month are the annual seasonal jobs....most of those jobs will be no more in the coming weeks/months.

I don't know about elsewhere but here in AZ most of those seasonal jobs are given to "snowbirds" on their $6,000/mo UAW retirements who just want something to do for the winters. Retired UAW Workers who obviously DON'T go on unemployment soon as the Holidays end so they can claim those jobs still exist.

The Gov't certainly has quite the con job going on, what's worse is there are people out there actually believing this bullshit.

Sad but not surprising. Now I will say i'd at least grow a tiny sliver of respect for them if they were out there in the various poverty stricken tent cities in America offering those jobs to the homeless victims of Government subsidized outsourcing of jobs while insourcing 3rd world labor. I'd still oppose them but I would at least have a small amount of respect for them for at least helping the poor get out of their situations.

Unfortunately they're not. Because they don't care. Well they care, they need the homeless families in America to stay homeless so they can plaster those people on TV and use them as pawns in their agenda.

This just proves that Obama the idiot doesn't care about jobs or our economy...he only cares about his wack-job tree hugging voting block. Vote Obama out in 2012.

One White House staffer actually said he would like to see gas prices rise to $8 or $9 a gallon so people will start to buy more electric cars! I couldn't believe it. Doesn't he or Obama understand when gas prices increase this increases the price on every food product and goods because everything is delivered by trucks at one point or another.

Fuck hyperinflation that causes everyone to be dependent on the government for support, we are going green damn it regardless of the costs!!! We'll use green companies that Nancy Pelosi has family ties to such as Solyndra, green companies that have been big financial supporters of Obama, and government and union owned auto companies like GM who develop piece of shit electric vehicles like the Chevy Volt.

Too bad the Repubs don't have another Reagan to ensure a victory in 2012. My biggest fear is Obama gets reelected, runs rampant over the Constitution by forcing things down our throughts while running up the deficit even further, and ruining our once great country.

Start learning to deal with your fears now, I don't think the GOP has anyone who can get the voters to the polls that Obama can.

I don't get something though. I remember folks blaming Bush and his "oil buddies" for the prices going up while he was in office. But now, it's the "speculators" who are causing it. Ummm...I think it was the speculators causing it back then too, but since Obama doesn't appear to have any oil companies in his pockets, well, it's all good.

*sigh* wish I could find one of those 200,000 jobs. I could use one.

While we are on the subject of things we don't get....

What I don't get is in 2008 everyone was fed up and the GOP was in its death throes as the voter abandoned ship. Everyone outside of the Evangelical wing was in agreement that Bush wasn't a Conservative and neither was McCain. People were fed up and started rallies over their rage.....

Only to shut up and run back to try and elect a Boston Socialist no different than Obama. Gary Johnson wasn't famous enough, Herman Cain wasn't experienced enough and Ron Paul isn't Jihadist enough so everyone figures lets throw our lot in with Socialism and accept defeat? Mindbogglingly unbelievable.

That's because Bush is an old news cycle we are sheep who can't remember passed last week let alone years ago.
Bush,Obama and anyone who could beat him this term still have to bow to the big corporations and it wont change no matter who the the bobblehead in the Whitehouse is.

Banks own us,keep yelling ,Lib and Conservative while they laugh at us and burn money to light there cigars.
When Wall St walks into Capitol Hill and gets $750 Billion(and counting) with a three page piece of legislation that nobody is allowed to scrutinize or read that should have let every last one of you know how screwed Joe the Plumber really is....

But by all means continue blaming along party lines,it's what they want us to do.

This is very true but without the belief that our candidate is a little less dirty and less of a big corporation and bank whore than the candidate from the other side of the aisle we'd be nothing but anarchists who believe in anything goes. Come to think of it, anarchism is not that far off judging by the extreme leftists and rightists fighting to the death instead of trying once in a while to find a happy medium.
