Hi

I'm Tom Griffin AKA civilwarfish...the name refers to my GG Grandfather, who was an officer in the Union army during the Civil War...and from my 25 years selling Tropical Fish for a living (Yes, I am a fish geek)

I'm 56 and horridly out of shape...I am bigger than anyone on our offensive or defensive lines...hit the scale recently at 410...but I am having surgery this summer that will drastically change all this. They say 250 by Christmas is possible...so heres hoping!

Came from outside Erie PA originally, now living in Cleveland just off East 185th street. Got a little shop on 185th that has a huge selection of swords and knives and used VHS tapes (go figure...sell what sells) and I make vinyl signs and provide imprinted items for companies and organizations that need them...you know...pens...calendars...t shirts...hats...swag of all kinds. Stop in ...Tom's Place is the name...north of the highway across from the old LaSalle theatre.

Been a Browns fan forever. Browns fans are not made, they are born...it is a birth defect or as I prefer an additional feature. I can remember Jim Brown from TV...but thats way back. But I never lose faith...even when Fart Model stole our team away I did not lose faith.

I believe we are on our way to the big dance. I think this process started once Mangini learned that he did not know all and started to really coach. If I had my preferences I likely would have kept him. However, nobody asked me...and I kinda like what Shurmur has let us see little signs of. I think Mike Holmgren has a plan and I think Tom Heckert is a genius. With Brad Childress on board now...and with Jauron and Rhodes...we have a significant staff.

We have players as well. Just not enough for depth. I am not yet convinced Colt McCoy isnt our man...not convinced he is either...so one more year...give him tools and see what happens. We are two years out anyway...so let him give it a go.

Joe Thomas Joe Haden Josh Cribbs Phil Taylor Jabaal Sheard D'Quell Jackson TJ Ward...some impressive names. Brandon Jackson is back and healthy. Hillis I do hope stays with us. Greg Little is going to be a power. Massaquoi is decent but not a number one...like Norwood. One more STRONG reciever is on the list. We need a Right tackle. A corner to fit with Haden. one more Defensive end. A powerhouse linebacker. A killer headhunter safety. We need a strong free agency...strong draft...and one more year.

2014 Superbowl. Browns and Lions. Whoda thunk it? Browns win...but what a game.

Dawson gets his ring.

GO BROWNS.

Tom, welcome aboard. Cool about your shop. I'm a VASJ grad so that's my old stomping grounds. Is LaSalle still operating? Is the marquee up? I actually went to movies there back in the day.

Out of curiosity, how'd you find this board? Wondering where new people are coming from recently.

My name is COMIGAR it is the name i use for gaming and everything. The name is based on an obscure star wars character(commander Igar).

I am 36 have been a Browns and Buckeyes fan for as long as I can remember.
But I just love football in general, from High School to College to the Pros.

I love of every aspect of the game. Even the stuff like how the o-line sets up to how a db plays a receiver.

I currently live Toledo

Hey

The old Lasalle is still there...Marquee is up but looks B A D. All empty, and the theatre was gutted a few years back by a guy who used it to store old cars. No more sloping floor or stage, just the shell. Its a historical site so they wont tear it down...even though it is likely better if they did...

VASJ owns the old John's Funhouse, so they are my neighbor...two doors down. Not sure what they use the building for but it is theirs.

I found this board via Google. Been looking for a board to talk Brownies on that isnt hostile or populated by complete morons like the plain dealer site...so far looks decent here.

Default The Great 1

My name is Tom, I like to call myself the great 1, because I just like to sometimes. I LOVE the browns, and have now for 32 years(my age). I grew up watching Bernie and the gang, so I was kind of spoiled initially by winning. I would like to see another winning season, not just .500 although it is a good start, let's get out of 10-loss land first. GO BROWNS!!! I bought a Courtrney Brown jersey and haven't worn it since he left. I have an authentic-looking Joe Thomas Jerseywith sewn on numbers and everything, it is my prized posession. GO BROWNS!! I live in Mentor (pronounced menner). Born and raised here, joined the Marine Corps right after High School and was taken to North Carolina for a few years and stayed for awhile, but I couldn't resist the draw to move back home. I LOVE it here, I missed the snow! I am an Indians, Browns, Cavs and Buckeyes fan and hope to see one of my teams win a Championship before I die.

Welcome aboard Tom! Good to see another poster like myself who grew up in the Lake County area and coincidently is named Tom as well. I also went to Mentor High (briefly). I was in a computer tech/programming program at MHS until one day I missed the bus back to Fairport Harbor because of detention and had to walk the 11-12 miles home. SOB! The very next day I re-enrolled in Fairport Harding High.

Default 1st post

Hi, I'm a die hard browns fan who has never seen a home game. I date back to the hall of famer #44. yet not quite old enough for #32. One of my favorite days is when 44 and 32 wheeled 66 out on the stage for his long overdue date with fame. My biggest pieve this year is that everyone says we need so much and have such a lousy team. I remind everyone of the Oakland game lost on a fake field goal. To the Cincy game lost when the defense wasn't ready. and the Pitts game when we should have let Senaca finish the drive and win the game. That alone makes us 7-9 and we'd be on the verge. I'd like to get RG3 for this years 2 firsts and a 5th and 3rd next year and thats all. Colt can do the job and is a winner. If we stay at 4 then I like Blackmon unless we get a FA WR. Then I take either Kalil or Dre or move down for Reiff. At 22 I take Zack Brown or Mark Barron. I feel we could use a good safety over a CB. In the 2nd I like Chase Minifield if the CB hasn't been filled. Then in the 3rd if the WR not filled I like Stephen Hill. Then if the OL not filled the top OL left. If we don't go for rg3 then I feel the priorities are WR, safety, LB, OL, CB. I feel RB will be ok with or without Hillis but I'd like to sign him to a 2 year incintive laden contract. With Jackson coming back and montario not a rookie it should be fine. Sorry if I said too much. Just excited for football.
