I think his leash will be pretty short, as I've said. It won't take many multiple-interception games to have a "who didn't see that coming?" vibe.

so you mean that he won't go all Kurt Warner on us and take us to a Super Bowl?

Here are my thoughts on this lovely, lovely thread.

I think it's a legit question. It's not like we acquired Peyton Manning or anything. Jake has a legit shot at bouncing back and giving us some good production. If the chances of that were nil or minuscule then I don't think Holmgren pulls the trigger on this deal, however given his recent circumstances to say that there is no chance he flames out is being a bit naive.

So how bad does he have to be to get the hook? That to me seems the basic premise of the thread.

Now, while I think it's a legit question, I don't think Shep needed to be the one to pose this question.

Like others have said, there are still people here who aren't happy with Shep, and they aren't the least bit out of line by expressing that frustration. Unless Shep sent individual apology PM's to everybody to my knowledge there's never been an olive branch offered by the offending party. I'm certainly not going to demand any apologies, however shep you have to realize there are those who are going to view a thread like this through the lens of "There goes shep again trying to discredit our QB" which leads back to the QB you wanted in the draft.

Anyway, that's my .02

I've completely let bygones be bygones, forgiven all who attacked me, and expect the same in kind. I've been the nicest of the nice since coming back. What more can I do? As far as how others respond to me now, I'm considering it a new slate and responding appropriately.

I know you to to be homosexual. :O

...

If I was Vegas, I think I'd put the over/under at 4.5 games. Similar to what Quinn got essentially.

Either he'll fail quickly or he'll make it through the whole season.

being a mostly non participating reader of this board, OBR, and TBB( last two never posted),

I definately see a trend. What that trend is I'm not gonna state or open a can of worms.
Shep, your posts DO stir controversy. You seem to think that's what makes a board flourish and to each their own. Many see the boards differently than you and that is probably one thing you've never addressed. Many see the boards as "comraderie"...a place to share ideas and thoughts , without, inuendos or so called attacks.

Your statement above that you've done all you can? Well you pissed off and on many people on THIS board while you were posting there. If you've made amends with them.. great then yes, you have done all you can. If you haven't? well... my opinion is like everyone elses .. doesn't mean shit

For a really good take on this "board split" do go to TBB and read DeadWombats post on the Shep pages.. it's a goodun .

edited to include that Jake starts 9 or more games. injury in the final weeks . Wallace starts at least the final 3.

I think Jake would have to play some truly AWFUL football and I mean A-W-F-U-L for at least a few games to truly get the hook. I think if he has a bad game or two, but they aren't back-to-back then he'll be okay. He should start the whole season barring some kind of awful, 100 yard, 4-INT performance in a must-win game or something to that sort.

I'm a fan of Delhomme and I want to see him play well for our team, I think that he will bounce back but its only a matter of time before he has a bad game and everyone's grabbing for their pitchforks. I expect after the first multi INT game there will be a large vocal focus on getting Seneca Wallace a chance.

If he can win games, that's what matters and it will quell the detractors but if he plays inconsistently I think it wouldn't be long before we let someone else have a shot.

Oh no no no no no.....you grossly misunderstand the situation here.

You left the board in a huff with about a weeks worth of drama and chat room exits.

Then you do the absolute unthinkable and not only go back to TBB after you had trashed the place for the last 8 months, but then proceed to trash the shit out of us over there at every turn. A lot of the posters here take pride in this place, and view it as a direct insult when you decided to smear Barking Hard through the mud. THen after about 25 days you slink back over here, not making any sort of apology to the group and just commence posting again as if you've never left.

It's as if you had a friend at a party who just drops his trousers and takes a big huge shit in the middle of your living room, then announces to all the guests of the party "Fuck you cocksuckers" and walks out......only to return 20 minutes later to see if he can help polish off the keg. The party goers aren't going to be all that receptive to his presence.

The principle here is the same. I think Gabe and I and the rest of the mods were gracious beyond words to allow you to come back here and post. However that doesn't mean any of the posters here have to let you off the hook, especially when you haven't made any attempt to bury the hatchet other than to say that you have forgiven us, which only further inflames the posters here, and rightfully so. It's not your forgiveness that's required for discussions to be fruitful here. It's the good posters who you shat on with your TBB escapade.....

The Analogy I came up with in my mind when he first came back was that it was like you just had a huge fight with your wife, police we called, restraining orders were issued, so you leave home and go move in with your wife's ex best friends, sleep with her, and go around town telling everyone how bad of a person your wife was.

Then one night after work, you come home to your wife and say "Hi honey I'm home! what's for dinner!" and are completely shocked when she hits you with a frying pan....
