Bradford gave up 4 sacks showing the game is still a bit too fast for him. He played OK.. But again.. It's fast for all of them at this point. McCoy had his struggles.. but we will see how he bounces back. I hope the injury does not prevent him from getting in some more preseason time.. This is pretty mucy it for him this year (if you believe Mike, which I do). I would like to see some growth over the preseason... that being said.. I feel a lot better about MCoy after watching Alex Smith today.. go 3-9 for 37 yards and an INT.. and he's a 5th year guy #1 draft pick.. He may be playing himself out of the league if he does not turn it around fast.

That being said, I really got to dig into Pike pretty hard. Good size, strong arm, lanky frame with plenty of room to grow, nice spiral and zip, lowest redzone turnover ration out of all the qbs that class, highest redzone scoring ratio out of all the qbs that class, good pocket presence and could find the open guy. Problem is he's a project with that lanky frame of his and would need a full season in the weight room to get to the point he wouldn't get killed the first big hit he took. Plus, just like Claustrich, he didn't play any real competition, mainly speedbumps. Add the injuries in there with his offense was based around Gilyard opening a path for their te to be open all day and looking back I'm not so sure he would be a great qb now, but at the time I was all over him almost as bad as shep over Harrington, Rodgers or Clustrich. I think he's still got a shot, but it's going to take the right team and qb coach. NE would have been a PERFECT fit for him.

Sounds like The Fever has a fever... I'll just see myself out

Haha. Well, at least you tried. I watched LeFevour early this morning, and he didn't look quite as bad as the report indicated. He was the victim of a couple bad drops and constantly was harassed by pressure coming off the edge. However, his arm strength did appear to be sub-par. San Diego rookie QB Jon Crompton was a little better. He started out with some big accuracy issues, including an overthrown ball that was picked, but he settled in & showed off the arm strength to fit the ball into tight windows. Also, he had a beautiful TD throw dropped by fellow rookie Jeremy Williams. |

How can anyone say Claussen looked good. I watched that game and he looked marginal at best. He pats the ball, as a long delivery, the one highlight play was a bad throw into double coverage where the WR made a circus catch. He went 8/15 (53%) for for 80 yards (5.3 ypa), took 2 sackes, and threw a pick (QBR 41.0).

I'm hearing Skelton looked pretty darn good for Arizona. Did you see him at all, Alo? EDIT: Read it here - Quote:

Yes, but he didn't show much arm strength on any of his throws, including a few he made from within a secure pocket. Arm strength wasn't exactly his calling card in college, and his windup release only magnifies the issue. |
