McCoy sprained his thumb, nothing serious. Overall I was pretty impressed with him, other than the underthrown ball on the fade he looked very accurate. He looked a little nervous in the pocket but thats expected in his first game, there's alot of positives to build on. He'll only get better with playing time

McCoy just isn't that good. Shep has that much right. The problem Shep also can't admit to as well, is Clausen isn't much better. Very weak QB class and that includes Bradford.

Marcus Benard runs the field so smoothly fwiw.

We got positive contributions from the rookies who are expected to contribute this year. I didn't focus much on Lauvao, but he appeared to be solid out there (probably going to go back & take another look).

Look, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE McCoy to be our answer so we don't have to draft a new one next year. Right now, he's miles behind his class (Bradford, Clausen, Kafka). He's played a scrimmage and a preseason game and sucked ass. That's the truth.

Mack, I disagree on Clausen. He looked sharp. Not overwhelming or awesome, but he threw a couple quick release strikes over the middle and dealt with the Ravens pressure like a veteran. He wasn't just better than McCoy... he was on a different level as far as being ready to play in this league.

I'm sorry, you guys. I just didn't like the pick and I haven't changed my mind a bit. Ask the Browns what they'd trade for Kafka, starting with McCoy, and it would include a pretty high pick.

8/15 isn't sharp when they are all short passes. He missed down the field and didn't look like anymore a NFL QB than McCoy. They are all wannabe hopes.

Dude, give me my due. He looks like shit so far, scrimmage and preseason game. I'm not gloating. I'm just right, so far.

Ward was fantastic. I can't say about Haden, but we got the fuck riddled out of us in the passing game (Rodgers was 12/13 and played pass and catch). I didn't get to see my other favorite pick, Hardesty, but I'm eager.

I like this, I don't like that. It doesn't make me the devil. I would have far preferred Kafka and he flat out looks like the better prospect right now. I don't want an award and I would LOVE for McCoy to be better than he looks right now.

Haden looked good.

Ward looks like he could turn into a RoY candidate.

Entire starting offense looked solid.

We lack depth big time in most areas.

Give me a break Shep. It's pre-season game one. Don't make it appear that you have such a hard-on for this kid to fail.

His two sweet passes over the middle were drilled through coverage. Very nice passes. Listen to the announcers and half-time analysts. He was good... against a scary d.

That said... just watching Kafka, he looks like a future star. He has a very quick release and a definite NFL arm. I think we'll be talking about this kid in a few years. Have to admit... I like watching him throw way more than Clausen.

How about the terribly underthrown 2nd interception? He was also behind his receivers.

I'm not bashing the guy. He's gotta be nervous coming in for his first NFL game playing with most of the guys that are going to get cut.

I just hope he can go next week so he can keep getting reps.

Im not gonna sit here and say McCoys the answer but theres a reason Holmgren wanted him...Holmgren knows something more about QB's than all of us...thats why "Holgren" is the GM/President...and none of us are. Shep...with you track record of QB's "wich is pitiful" outside of Rodgers I wouldnt brag on Kafka or PicklFuck...I like Kafka but..Im not getting horney over him like you are LOL. Alex Smith,Matt Leinart and Quinn all SUCKED!!!..And still SUCK!!
