You hear this "it's only preseason" stuff a lot. Leinart threw it out last night (it's about the only thing he could say). However, looking inept during game situations is not a good thing. Watching the MNF game last night, where Leinart and DA had a millisecond to throw the ball, was painfully reminiscent of the Browns of yesteryear. But, it's 2010, and the Browns blocking is amazingly better and it seems there's a gut reaction that Lauvao may just make a go of it this season. Thomas-Steiny-Mack-Lauvao-Pashos with Pork Chop and St. Clair around seem like a great situ for a 35 yr-old experienced QB with MEN in the backfield.

And I mean men. Mountain men. The line to face Vickers + Hillis has to be empty. Step right up defenders and take your licks. My god they are bruisers.

All I know, for the first time in years, I can see other (reasonably talented) teams where I'd rather be us than them.

It feels damn good.

Agree, agree, agree. Some damn fine posts going up this morning.

I've watched a LOT of Leinart interviews, being a Trojan fan and him being an articulate guy. And i could see him swallowing a lot of blood from biting his tongue. He wanted to say, "WHAT THE FUCK do you want me to do when the rush beats me back to my setup? I found my hot reads four times, even while getting hit, you jackoffs! My rookie WR didn't even look for the ball on my one deep pass and, okay, I made the wrong safety read on the other throw. Fucking Brees and Manning do that, too."

I'm not sure, but I think every running play during Leinart's three drives was a loss. As he said through gritted teeth, they were in a lot of 2nd and 3rd and 14, which isn't good when you can't block at all.

And where the FUCK was Beanie to start the game? Are you telling me he's NOT the starter? Whisenhunt is a dipshit who stumbled onto a Golden Warner with a healed hand. That's it.

Glad to be stomping around again!

The weird thing is I still find myself rooting for DA and Quinn in a way. I guess 3 years of emotional investment takes some time to wear off. Or maybe because I feel our Browns are better off I can have mercy on them.

But I can't stop thinking about Hillis and Vickers. Built for the tough AFC North. I'll be right back. I'm gonna find a telephone pole and throw some forearm shivers.

That's really sad cuz he is amazing..there is actually an article headling yahoo right now on that very thing..her is the link

Great post. I think you've hit the nail on the head where it's most important. Our team is looking better than we've been used to. It's all apart of the culture change that the Browns are currently experiencing. I think that we're currently working out some system kinks but I think we're in an excellent position to have a great year. Not playoff's great, but great that it shows each of us that we're moving forward. We're competing with the best teams in football, and maybe winning a game or two against them. Thats what I'd like to see.

I've always been an 'underdog' fan of the Cardinals, and I can't help but be amused by the fact that they go from the safety net of Kurt Warner to the underachiever Leinart and the overachiever Anderson. Their fans are going to grow frustrated with their QB play, and quick.

In my opinion, if we're replacing Colt McCoy, you aim higher than Colt... Flynn or RGIII don't really give me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

I can't wait 'til this kind of scenario starts hitting the likes of the Colts, the Patriots, and yes, the steelers.

It happens with every team. Players aren't robots that last forever and the techniques need to adjust to whoever you have. It's growing pains and those things help the teams that are just about to break through. In my mind, it will clear the path a bit for our Brownies!
