Post Thoughts after the most important game of pre-season.

-Delhomme is what we thought he is (at least a few of us)...a damned good QB who had 1 god awful year. Clearly the best QB in a Browns Uni since Kosar. A lot of you seem to be pulling for Wallace to start and/or get a ton of action, I'm hoping the opposite. The less we see of Wallace the better, he's a good back-up but he's no Jake Delhomme. Prediction : Barring major injuries, Delhomme makes a push for the pro-bowl this season.

-Even in the very first training camp session, I commented how much better Cribbs was looking at WR. People kept claiming the opposite as TC and pre-season games played out ...but I am hoping he's changing your minds.

-Harrison has done little to nothing to impress me. He's not good enough as a feature back to be putting the ball on the ground as much as he has been. Prediction: When all is said and done, Harrison will be our 3rd down back ...if that. He's not, or at least shouldn't be a feature back.

-Hillis is a beast. He's the guy I'd like to see in combination with Hardesty this season. (if Hardesty is as good as advertised)

-Ben Watson is better than I hoped.

-Daboll is who we thought he is. (a couple of us) A smart, young O-coordinator who was growing leaps and bound towards the end of last season, and is continuing to grow into what looks to be a creative, intelligent coach.

-I hope Haden takes the starting CB spot so that Brown takes Elams spot.

-Elam sucks.

-Sheldon Brown is not as good as advertised.

-Not too worried about our D ...they look disciplined for the most part, and we are currently missing key components. Pre-season D is usually more vanilla than even the O, we're not showing much.

I'll stick with my pre pre-season prediction of 7-9. That being said, I am even more positive about our team. I could easily see a few breaks going our way, and us getting 10 wins and a play-off berth. (again, barring injuries ..we aren't deep enough yet) Yes, I said it.

(I know the game is not over yet, so I may have more to add)

Good insight.

Sadly, in years past, i have begged for them to put harrison in. However our talent level overall has increased by a decent amount, and i just dont see him getting a shot here, as good as i believe he is. Any other year, id have bitched and moaned that he WASN't playing, now, id rather see the other guys.

GO BROWNS!

Thumbs up: Delhomme, Hillis, Watson, Moore.

Thumbs down: Pass defense, the area we spent the most on. We got SHREDDED.

Nope, Wright sucks and was abused badly today. Elam was pretty solid being the cleaner upper he is.

Haden benching Wright can't come soon enough, even with the rookie errors that will surely come.

Let's not turn this into a McCoy thread, but if he looked that bad with the 1's I might be worried. As of now, he might or he might not turn into a starter/back-up QB. I'm not losing any sleep over it. Stoked about how our starters played.

Not trying to make this into a Colt hatefest, but Frye looked better than that.
Hillis is a beast.
Jake needs to learn how to hold on to the damn ball, Hillis saved his ass today and made 3 yards off of a busted play.
Denver got the shit end of the stick on the Quinn/ Hillis trade.
Barton looked like Davis did at ilb.
We need some impact at the DE spot and more depth on the dline.
The right side of the oline looked pretty solid against a tough Detroit dline.

It looks like the offense will be able to put some points on the board for a change, the defence keeping points off the board is what has me concerned so far.

I know McCoy may be the future of this team but Delhomme is the NOW. For once let us not worry about our rookie quarterback and enjoy the fact that we have to VERY capable quaterbacks ahead of our rookie. Let's just enjoy what Delhomme has been doing and focus on what we need to do.

In a game that was supposed to be our "dressed rehearsal", we looked BAD against a BAD team. Even though the Lions have a good young group of players, they still haven't done anything to prove to me that they aren't the team that went 0-16 a couple of years ago. This game has left a sour taste in my mouth and I REALLY hope that this was just because it was pre-season and things will look 100% better when the games start to count.
