Golfer, that part is what did impress me about EM in that article and that behavior is what started my turn on him last season. I will still need to see how the team/season unfolds before I fully believe he will be the HC come 2011.

Excellent, excellent articles. Just when I start to level out and think "wellll......" another article comes out and I end up liking Mangini even more. I think any ho hums Holmgren has are drowned out by the opportunity to mold this young head coach into this sort of hybrid of two excellent NFL systems. He's GOT to be intrigued by that possibility.

I gotta say though on one front, I disagree with the Author on a few fronts. 1: It's the Parcells system, not Belicheat system. Nitpicky, but eh. The 2nd thing: I disagree that the WCO is predicated on having only the best, highest priced talent. Look at some of the guys who've thrived in a WCO and nothing else. Shit when it comes to QB's whenever it's an average QB "he's a fit for the WCO." I'd look at the draft histories too. Holmgren was either a master at finding late round QB and WR gems, or there's a certain type of player that thrives.

Let's not forget as Holmgren said, the WCO comes out of the Paul Brown system. What else came from Brown? The Steelers defensive system and pound it, ball control offense. What does Mangini have down pat? Pounding it, ball control offense, and defense. Between the two we have ALL of the innovations Paul Brown created in our Front Office. I'm excited about seeing them meld together. The GREAT thing is Mike Holmgren has already proven what he needs to and is willing to help out and mentor people. Eric Mangini as the Article states wants to learn. He's not married to the hoodie wearing clown who it seems never actually mentored him.

Could the Eric Mangini reinvention, growing into himself be a full on return to the Paul Brown system, in Cleveland no less? I'm excited to find out. Especially when it's "two" systems responsible for OVER 15 Superbowl championships combined melding back into one system.
