I say this game means a LOT to McCoy's future. |

Im hoping Locker does something to make his draft stock fall a bit to us. Because Locker looks like the real deal, Locker is another one of THOSE players I think some drafts theres a player who is just lightyears ahead in talent and potential from the rest, thats locker, and its gonna be a sad day when I see him go to another team

I'd say this game is what it is. the last preseason game. Just one more stepping stone for McCoy in his learning process. To say it means a lot for his future is being a bit dramatic. At best, it is a measurement of his growth and again he will be playing with a bunch of guys who will be bagging groceries next week. McCoy's development will be working with the practice squad against our #1 defense most of the year. That's where QBs learn. That's where the game starts to slow down for them and that's where they get experience working through progressions and reading defenses. That's where Haskel will be working with him while the OC and QB coaches develop game plans and work the the #1 and #2 guy. Honestly, did you think it was just about what you learn in training camp and then take a nap until the offseason. When ragging on a 3rd string QB becomes an obsession it might be to deflect what your real opinions were when we signed Delhomme and brought in Wallace. Man, you can be fuckin unbelievable bordering on obnoxious when you don't like someone. And Haden and Ward say........................how do you like us now Shep.......... |

Then we've seen guys emerge that never really appeared any college football highlight shows during the scholarship like Tony Romo, Joe Flacco, Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme, Jeff Garcia... Moral of the story? You never know what the right NFL environment with the right training can do for the right prospect. Of this last slew of names I mentioned - only ONE of the guys was an instant success while the others either required training in different leagues, different camps or they had Parcells telling people 3 years wasn't enough time to put his young QB on center stage yet. Meaning? There's alot more to this gig than masterign it within 3 preseason football games as we've been hearing around our watercooler. - Tom F.
