It's also like the Browns to draft a third round QB instead of a first, act like he's a first, and start him as a rookie like he's a first (Frye). I think any drafted quarterback has SOME expectations to not suck. Or put another way, if you want to be treated like the QB of the future, you have to look the part at least a little. |

So drafted QBs have the expectation not to suck in their first preseason games, unless that QB is: Aaron Rodgers, Matt Leinart, and Alex Smith (2 of which sucked in real games as well, including one going 1TD to 11INTs their first season) |

Whatever I originally said, yeah. Are you suggesting that NFL teams just ignore when the rookie QB plays, because it doesn't really matter and shouldn't be credited or held against him? This conversation is baffling. |

As long as when he is eating that wine and cheese in a restaraunt he isn't openly complaining about how unfair his benching is, allowing for all in the restaraunt to hear him. I heard McCoy is making plans to hot tub and do beer bongs with Nick Lachey and underaged girls during his offseason instead of preparing to be an NFL QB. Masters, out of curiosity, was that 'wine and cheese' reference you made re: Leinart and the restaurant for real (ie, he WAS eating wine and cheese), or was it tongue in cheek. If it is the former...well that's freaking ironic. Shep, I EXPECT rookies to perform poorly in their preseason games. If they perform well, that's good, but I'm not shocked, disappointed, or even concerned that they sucked in preseason, or in any games they might appear in during their rookie season. The bigger concern is 'do they improve?' Quinn never did, and neither did Frye. If McCoy looks the same next season...then there is definitely cause for concern. |

You know, I just can't see McCoy getting cut this season unless another qb that H3 wanted was showing something they wanted to see more so than Colt and gets cut. But what are the odds of that happening? Ratty is outtahere!!!!!
