Default Rewriting History, 2009 Draft

Just read that the Bears Jarron Gilbert (2009 3rd round pick, popular around here as a 3-4 DE) is on the roster bubble. Meanwhile, our 2nd round pick from the same year, David Veikune, is in the same position.

Maybe Veikune can go back to being a 4-3 DE and Gilbert can be a 3-4 DE at 6'5" and 285... and all will be right with the world. Straight-up trade?

The biggest '09 2nd round bust appears to be Pat White, who's going to get cut by the Dolphins.

One of the biggest HUH??? picks of recent past for me. Made picking Tebow in one look downright sane.

This is surprising:

via here.

Back at UConn, Brown looked a lot like the good Kam Wimbley, but the wrist injury he suffered in '09 could be hampering his play.

Yeah, he got scads of love on our boards. I remember thinking he went higher than we expected.
