Default 5th WR Not on the Roster?

Steve D. tossed that out this morning. The Browns have Mitchell, Engram, Steptoe, and somebody else fighting for that spot on the roster. It's possible that none of them will make it and the 5th guy might be a late cut from another team... like Iglesias.

Any other bubble guys out there you like?

I have only been able to watch the Lions preseason game since I live out of state, but is Mitchell really doing that poorly? I liked the speed he showed on the end-around, and he has great size for a receiver. I hope we haven't given up on him already. Then again, like I said I haven't seen much of the Browns this preseason.

Mitchell could be a practice squad guy.

Mitchell has looked ok but not overly impressive. About what you'd expect from a 6th round rookie, but better than Paul Hubbard ever looked.

Yeah, Steve D. mentioned the practice squad, but WRs are one of the top raided positions.

I sure as shit hope we don't give up on Mitchell. It's well known it takes WR a while to get up to speed of the pro game, even moreso for a 6th round pick. He's caught the ball fairly well (from what I've seen during preseason) and I absolutely love this kid's speed.

I'm beyond ready to move on from Steptoe. He's been in the league a few years now and hasn't done shit with his opportunities.

Big night for Mitchell. Also depends on what's available out there.

We really need a fast guy if one becomes available so it really wouldnt suprize me a bit if mangini/heckert are waiting to see what becomes available...and i think mitchell makes the practice squad.

I don't think the Browns would have showcased Mitchell's speed on that reverse if they were planning on sneaking him onto the p-squad.

I don't know that there are going to be any receivers released that would be any better options than what we already have.

Unless Sam Hurd from Dallas gets released.
