Well aint that just a well timed kick in the junk?

How is it other teams draft players with injury histories and they turn out to be productive members of the team?
Does our training staff suck?
Do the doctors we use to evaluate the picks prior to the draft even have medical degrees?
Do we just have shitty luck?
I'd like to know what the problem is so we can fix it.

I wonder if Holmgren will use this to snap some power up and force his will in the draft room from Heckert in the future.

Frankly, Mangini needs to take some of the blame as well. We already had a stable of backs and unless they ere planning to move Harrison or were concerned Davis wasn't going to make a full recovery, the Hardesty move look forced and they wasted some serious value to a injury prone player who probably will never amount to much.

We were looking at Anthony Dixon, too... and I think he led the NFL in everything for the preseason. Just our fucking luck.

BTW, my son hurt his knee in a tackling drill the linebackers have been doing ad fucking nauseum (too much, too close to the opener) and it just scared the shit out of me. He was really limping and hurting for two days. Last night, the team doctor checked him out... and said nothing was torn so just a sprain.

He did another ice tube and jacuzzi, took more Advil, and felt much better this morning. Phew.

Shouldn't these two LBs that we are "shoulda, woulda, coulda'ing" actually do something first before we get into that stuff?

What's funny about this whole thing is last week there was a thread here where half the posters wanted to trade Harrison because we had a stable of backs. Some people said whoa, let the preseason play out there are always injuries. But, no, some wanted a 4th round pick for Harrison so we could move on to Hardesty.

Now, Hardesty is Hurtisty to some and the knees jerk reactions are going another way. Let's get rid of Heckert for drafting a guy who had injury problems......................lol

Maybe we should give back Ward also. What a dumb pick that was, I guess. He has injury problems too. Holmgren should fire them all. Even Mangini for letting him play. Everybody knows when you let guys play there is a chance they could get hurt. How dumb is Mangini?

If half the teams passed on guys with college injury histories then there would be a lot of open spots in the pro bowl each year. Heaven forbid they said on Barking Hard.........................stay away form Beenie Wells and that Peterson fellow, they are injury prone.

It's football.............WTF. People get injured and you move on. You don't second guess your picks. Teams evaluate advice from staff, scouts and medical personnel and make a decision. If the guy comes back next year and rushes for 1500 yards then everybody will be saying, "glad we took him instead of one of those LBs".

Come on with the knee jerk bullshit. The guy got injured and thank god Holmgren didn't listen to the advice of this board and trade away Harrison.

Regardless of the injury, this kid was a football player and he didn't just check according to our staff but to many others. That's why we had to trade up to get him. NE was poised to take him, but then again maybe their training staff and doctors don't know shit either.

I love that this FO is willing to do what it takes to put a winner on the field. Rolling the dice is part of it. I don't hear anybody bitching about taking Ward, who has an injury history.

BTW, I've been bitching about getting a "knock their dicks off" LB along side of you for many years and they take Veikune and Maiava last year.................WTF

The answer to this defense isn't DQJ getting healthy either. They need an enforcer but you can't afford to pass on a RB with Hardesty's potential. They rolled the dice on a guy who could be a super star, maybe still can be, who knows.

I look at a whole lot of other lost picks and not at taking Hardesty for the reason why we don't have that enforcer on defense. There were too many LBs last year for us to not get one so I don't even look at why they took Hardesty over anybody. sometimes you just take "The Best Player Available" because he stands out over the rest.

Nobody wins them all......................................

This is horrible news. However, it isn't like we are short at RBs. I have been wanting to see Davis get some playing time for awhile.
