Default Brown's Sign 6 to Practice Squad

Brown's signed Larry Assante to the practice squad. I really didn't want to lose him. I think he has some potential down the road.

Also resigned were Fanaika, Ivey, Pat Murray, Sanford and Deangelo Smith.

Good start but I think there are still some other moves that will be made.

We should do something like the Bucs, who lured Dezmon Briscoe to Tampa by offering to pay him the minimum salary for an active player ($320k). Normally, practice squad players make about $85k.

"I was not a huge Colt McCoy fan going into the draft. I thought the Browns should take Clausen.
When they passed on him at 38, I literally crapped myself and threw up at the same time."

Released Bills RB Anderson Signs With Browns
Posted on September 6, 2010 by Patrick Moran

I spoke to recently released Buffalo Bills running back Andre Anderson Sunday night, and he told me that he is going to join the Cleveland Browns practice squad.

“It’s a good opportunity for me to learn and grow and at this point that’s all you can ask for—is an opportunity.” Anderson said.

Anderson, 22, was signed by the Bills last month after being an undrafted free agent out of Tulane. As a senior last year Anderson ran for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. He also excelled off the field; being named an Academic All-American.

In limited preseason action with the Bills, Anderson ran for 73 yards on 16 carries, including 30 yards in the preseason finale last Thursday in Detroit.

He was always a huge underdog to make the Bills roster with the team already having C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch in tow. Fellow undrafted running back Joique Bell was also waived Saturday but signed to the Bills practice squad on Sunday. However, that didn’t last for long as WIVB reported that Bell has signed with the Tampa Bay active roster.

Anderson clearly has a better chance for a future in Cleveland. We wish him the best of luck; he’s certainly a great kid.
