Default Predictions 2010

AAHHH Dare to dream. It's finally time to make those bold predictions for our Browns this season. Back them up with logic or just get crazy with it. It's all in good fun.

I'm going for a 10-6 wild card season. All games are at 1pm and we don't go to the west coast so there will be a routine there. We will split with Cincy and Spitssburgh but sweep Ratbirds. And that 4 week plunge with Saints, bye, Pats and Jets---we go 2-1(those last 2 are at home). The final Sunday night game will be Browns over stools for the final wild card spot. And the fans will be for this team ALL YEAR. No soap operas, no controversies just good football. Yeah I'm a fan.

As far as the rest of the NFL---going with the Colts and Packers for the Super Bowl. If I were truly bold the Browns would be there but baby steps for me. I'm willing to wait a year or so for the big one.

The 2 busts will be the Jets and Vikings. And my bold prediction is once the Vikings are out of the race Favre will have one excellent game and then mysteriously sustain an injury and sit down. Bye Brett

So there it is. Looking forward to the Board and you calm cool collected members all season. Game on

Could be anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 ....but I'm going 7-9.

We lost our franchise back, which hurts. I'm hoping Hillis & Davis can really step up when/if Harrison goes down.

If we go 10-6 I think we're potentially talking about a pro-bowl season for Delhomme.

I can't go into a season without hoping for better than generally expected... so my "dream" is 9-7 and we sneak into the playoffs. We do have a mundane schedule, time and travel-wise, and it could play into our favor. I think the Steelers are kinda "down," and that should help. I think the Ravens are getting overrated (they have three old, slow WRs and Reed is out at least 6 weeks). I think the Bengals could be the class of the division, and i don't think they'll be better than 10-6. It could be a scrum.

The upside for the Browns depends on the possible strength of our team (the OL) and a few stars or semi-stars emerging on both sides of the ball... guys like Moore, Robiskie, and Hillis on offense and Rubin, Ward, Haden, and Gocong on defense.

Veterans like Delhomme, Watson, and Rogers become huge X factors. If they stay healthy and have Glory Days seasons, it'll go a long, long way.

And the third major variable is the Wildcat. Does it become a big part of the Browns offense, and therefore their storyline for 2010? I think Wallace and Cribbs needs to contribute for our offense to be productive.

I should probably say that the preseason was a bit confusing because the offense seemed generally good and the defense seemed generally horrible, opposite of my expectations. So I go into the opener kind of baffled at what to expect from the Browns.

To paraphrase Kiffin, I've never felt less certain about what we have.

I think we'll start off with a couple W's then the road gets a bit tougher with 7 good teams in the heart of the season. Also having Cincy, Baltimore and Pittsburgh to end the season will hurt too. I'll say 8-8 but very competetive in most of the losses.

My game by game prediction:

TB - W
KC - W
BAL - L
CIN - W
ATL - L
PIT - W
NO - L
NE - L
NYJ - L
JAC - W
CAR - W
MIA - W
BUF - W
CIN - L
BAL - L
PIT - L

Im going with 7-9. Would be more if we would have held on to Brady Quinn. He was just about to break out.

My brain says 7-9 but my heart says we go 10-6 and this time we make the playoffs!

i'm actually not all that sure which games we'll win and which we'll lose. we'll split the first two for sure, because they're both winnable, which means we won't win both. we'll win at least one game we should definitely lose, which i chose new england to be, especially because i think they're going to be down this year even more so than last.

weeks three through ten are going to be rough. that's where we'll win at least one game we should definitely lose, and we'll be lucky to get two wins in those weeks. that's two to three wins total thus far.

weeks eleven through fourteen hold a single game that we should definitely win and three others that are possible wins, so we'll win a single game there.

the last three weeks are going to be tough, which means we'll win a game we should lose, probably against cinci.

5-11 again, which will leave the QB we need to become a decent team just out of reach. we'll go defense in the first round again, and the cycle of losing and despair will continue for yet another year.

hope springs eternal in cleveland.

This is a semi-reasonable way to win 10 games. Weird, because it includes a 4-game losing streak followed by a four-game winning streak.
