Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman suffered a broken thumb during the preseason. The broken thumb reportedly limited his ability to participate in practice on Wednesday. The extent of the limitation, however, wasn't clear.

Anwar Richardson of the Tampa Tribune (via JoeBucsFan.com) reported during the session that Freeman is "not practicing." PewterReport.com reports that Freeman participated in some walk-through reps with a splint on his thumb.

Freeman fully participated in practice on Tuesday, according to coach Raheem Morris. It's unknown whether Wednesday's reduction in activity resulted from an aggravation to the injury.

The Bucs host the Browns on Sunday in one of the few games that the Bucs have a snowball's chance in Tampa of winning.

I'm worried about the quick little RB Huggins. He's had a decent camp. I'd rather Freeman plays with the thumb.

Freeman was held out of practice on Wednsday due to having soreness in his right hand and injured thumb after practice on Tuesday. Still expected to start according to HC AND Def Coordinator Raheem Morris.

Who does that as a coach? Seems power hungry and unable to trust those around him. When was the last time a HC also had the official title of Def or Off Coordinator attached to his title? Personally I don't think Morris is going to cut it Tampa - They are starting to get some good players but if they don't improve this year he is probably gone.

BTW, went to the Tampa website to get info on the team and the first thing that pops up is a full screen ad saying plenty of tickets still available for home opener - pretty sad when you can't get your fan base up for your home opener. Tampa and Jacksonville will lead the NFL in blacked out games this year.

The game's expected to be blacked out in Tampa. Hopefully, the small crowd will work to the Browns' advantage.

Josh Freeman (thumb) is listed as probable on the Bucs' Week 1 injury report and practiced fully on Friday.

ESPN's John Clayton confirms that Freeman "will be a go" against Cleveland. The Bucs might explore the possibility of using more shotgun formations in an effort to take pressure off Freeman's broken thumb. Freeman has lots of experience in the 'gun dating back to Kansas State's spread offense.
