Damn, we have trouble getting our Top Five line intact. |
I hope Pork Chop isn't rusty with all the time he's missed this preseason or he could be looking more like Lee Ann Womack. That Tampa heat on an early Sunday afternoon is no joke.
On the positive side, Pork Chop appeared to be our best right side olineman last year. I was always confident in him at OG against the girthier DTs. However, somebody straightened me out about Pork Chop's positive impact over the last 3-4 weeks at RT last year. Obviously I needed that because this blowhard (your buddy Flugel) was trying to give some running game cred to St Clair.
The good thing about Yatez is his ability to play OG or Center in a binde and even better is his experience in the league. The BAD part about all this is Titus Brown is a REALLY promising young LBer that I gotta believe at least 1 of 32 teams may be interested in signing. Trust me when I tell you I saw him defend more passes and make more tackles near the line of scrimmage than Maiava could with first half rosters in front of him. I hope we start to see some return value on Maiava because he's not exactly Larry Izzo on the STs; and Costanzo already has that down pat anyway. Jason Trusnik was STs player of the month early last year before coming to Cleveland so I don't see such an urgency to keep the guy unless he's All Planet in practice every day or something. I just keep seeing a guy 1-2 steps too late to his hook zones and he grabs an occasional ankle in a pile his teammates formed. Seems like a great kid though. Maybe that gets perceived as coachable and upside from the right people where a knucklehead like me is incapable of seeing that with game day conclusions. I'm wrong a ton at pegging guys - I need my day job!
