Just kidding Shep, put the KY gel and tissues away. He is wearing a walking boot, though. Quote:

Look, I didn't and don't believe that Delhomme is going to give us any kind of top shelf QB play this year. At best he'll be passable, at worst he'll be the guy he's been for a couple years now. I am at least intrigued by what Seneca Wallace could be. Someone else referenced Garcia and Flutie as guys with that level of athleticism who found their inner QB later in their careers, and Seneca is only 29. He's exciting. He can make a defense think. AND... we can shift into Wildcat plays seamlessly. I think it could be fun. |

If he was not hurt at all, I'd be saying Delhomme should still play through at least the by week. But a walking boot and Senneca taking the snaps wed. I don't care how jake feels the rest of the week. Senneca should start this weekend.

This really sucks. Wallace has been a career back-up for a reason ...he's not as good as Delhomme. That being said, he'll still be an improvement over DA/BQ, and hopefully he can bring us a win against a team we can beat. Once Delhomme is healed, unless Wallace is all-world, he'll be the starter.

The question really is: Who's better right now? Wallace is 29, stronger-armed and obviously way more athletic. His career passer rating is right there with Delhomme. As passers, Wallace might be still ascending. Delhomme is not. His arm isn't what it was and he's 35. We'll see what we see on Sunday, but I think right now, today, Wallace is the better player. In 2008, given extended starting experience, Wallace had an 87 passer rating, 11/3. Last time Delhomme played at that level with significant playing time was 2005... five seasons ago. Last year and so far this year, he's worked in the 50s QBR. Last edited by Shep; 09-15-2010 at 10:29 AM. |

| According to off-season, TC, and pre-season ...Delhomme is better. He earned the starting job. One thing is for certain ...if we keep the turnovers down, we have a good shot at winning. If Hillis or Harrison fumble away another game, I expect they'll be in the doghouse the remainder, or at least a huge chunk of the season.
