Well, apparently everyone welches on their bets around here, so I dont think that it will work. Im excited and I think we will be good this year. Then around week 4 or 5 or so, reality sets in that the Browns suck again. Maybe one day my friend, maybe one day.

So, if I follow the post correctly, the wager is as follows: 1) If the Browns win, the people who root for them anyway will root for them. This also applies if they lose by just a little. 2) If the Browns lose, you will admit that maybe they have problems, but only if they get really hammered. I'm not sure what the wager is and why those two things are mutually exclusive. Dennis I'll always root for the Browns, but if they win 10-9 on a last-second field goal after turning it over six times in the game, there's no way on God's green earth I'm agreeing to ignore the team's problems--not that that's what supporting the team means anyway. |

I like the team in every aspect, except I think Delhomme is not even a good short term answer (and I've said many time, I'd be happy to be wrong on this) and I think our receivers lack the ability to get good separation and go after the ball at its highest point. Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but we took Hardesty with a known injury history, and the next team took Golden Tate. Anywho, no way am I throwing in the towel yet.. I'm really excited about Lauveo, Ward, and Haden. Solid. I'm also really happy with how the O-line is getting better every year. We looked competitive last week in the first half, but the late 2nd quarter INT was a killer. Onward and upward.

A little adversity? I've lived though: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Is that enough adversity for you? Did I forget anything?? Come on now. You yeasayers simply don't get it. Questioning what our management does and not seeing a rosy fucking outlook simply because we love the Browns and want to see us on a positive path doesn't make us (the Negative Nancys) any less of a fan. In fact, it makes us more of a fan, because you can see how passionate we want to win already and refuse to slurp up some jizz just because it happens to be sitting right in front of us and wears an orange helmet or a Browns XXXXL polo. Do we suck right now? Absolutely. Are we getting better? Who knows. But this bullshit, and all of the other "you better not question Mangini or Holmgren or Delfuckinghomme or get crucified my the troglodytes here" is how I know staying away after my ban is the right move. I'm a long-suffering Browns FAN, and I will be until we get good. Adieu. |

I'm sorry, are we now defining what a "true Browns fan" is? Seems by this thread, being a "true Browns fan" requires one to blow sunshine about this team. Personally, I think rooting for the Browns week in and week out, year after year, even when they have sucked, is being a true Browns fan. Every person on this board does that. Being critical of a team and organization does not make someone not a "true Browns fan". |

LMAO Okay guys I guess I suck at geting my point across. More or less I just wanted anyone that maybe felt they were 'down' on the team after one week to step up and show a little more support than some of us have been. I don't just read around here (and I'm sorry if I ruffled any feathers) but I think I achieved a modicum of what I hoped to, I've gotten some of you to look at the way we support this team as fans. I think Masters and Mz. both made excellent posts. As a relatively young Browns fan compared to some (most) of you, I suppose that I haven't experienced a lot of the heart ache that a lot of you know. I just have been a little tired of the knee-jerk negativity that's crept up around the internet. My Wager sounded a lot better when I was thinking of it. ![]() Crow, your Wager was pretty good but I have this thing against putting a gun to my head...

Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades! The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |
