After seeing Bob McGinn's report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the Green Bay Packers are paying offensive tackle Breno Giacomini an increased weekly salary to keep him from signing with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad, I decided to take a stroll through the NFLPA records to find the other practice squad players receiving more than the standard $88,400 yearly ($5,200 weekly) salary.

St. Louis Rams practice squad cornerback Marquis Johnson, a seventh-round pick in 2010, has a $320,000 salary, according to NFLPA records, which would make him the highest-paid practice squad player in the NFL. Quarterback Brett Ratliff, released by the Cleveland Browns after the pre-season, is earning $200,005 ($11,765/week) as a practice squad player for the Jacksonville Jaguars. (Jacksonville paid quarterback Richard Bartel a higher practice squad salary in 2009.)

Funny that the Jags overpaid fellow browns QB scrub Bartel, who Ratty "out-preformed" in preseason 2 years ago....

Though if you all remember correctly, Bartel actually had the highest QBR of any of our QBs in that preseason.
