Default Should Tom Heckert Be Fired?

I'm just curious. Should we fire Tom Heckert along with Mike Holmgren? It's already clear Mike Holmgren needs to go after not forcing Heckert to use all of our picks on two positions, but shouldn't have Heckert already known to do so?

Look, we all know the only positions that matter are QB and WR. You can build the O.L., the defense and grab running backs after round four. They're not really needed anyways, right? Rounds 1-3 should be exclusively for WR's and round 1 exclusively for QB's.

So as we know H&H blew this draft and I think it's time for a change. They passed on a mediocre College QB with a late 2nd-3rd round draft grade for a DROY candidate and passed on a WR who needed his ankle nearly broke before he learned to shut up and learn in place of a solid CB. But Bmac and Sorenson would have sufficed.

So after that fuck up we're dangerously close to having a top 5 backfield but defense only wins championships. It prevents 59-48 shootouts. It's not fun. It isn't sexy. And this was a major blunder. Should we fire them now or wait until the season ends?

Where's Dawg Breath Mike, we need him to tell Lerner we want Matt Millen running this bitch. His hand is clear as day on the pulse of what works. What say you?

I don't know if Heckert is a top 5 GM, but he's already the best we've ever had (not making retarded draft choices like Butch; not overspending on awful free agents like Sewage).

Some would argue that blowing picks on the defense WERE retarded draft choices. Nevermind actually looking into the hows, why's or looking at the fact the Eagles were already built and as we witnessed had planned to go defense early and often this season. You know, the team he spent an entire year scouting for as opposed to the two or so months he had on the job in Cleveland.

That said I agree, he isn't top 5. He's top 3, easily. Look up his draft history. The only guys I see really ahead of him are Bill Polian and Ozzie Newsome.

Of course we should fire both Heckert & Holmgren. The current manifestation of Browns fan very rarely give coaches/front office hires 2 years .....we just really must have liked Mangini, but we all know 3 years is most definitely not needed to turn around an abysmal franchise ...so Mangini is only an after thought now as we try to figure out which lucky guy is going to be run out of town next. Everything must be turned around now, instantly, regardless of how asinine & moronic that notion is ...it's the type of fan we have now, although I really wish they'd go cheer on (or be miserable about as it were) another team. We know misery loves company, but I don't think most of us want that company here.

I took a week off, it was refreshing. Those of you getting burnt out on the people here who want to rub your nose in misery, I'd suggest you do the same.

I hate to disapoint you Gabe, but that refreshing feeling goes away REAL fast....

I hear ya golf, which is why I'm going to try to stay away from the past weeks threads as much as I can. Just don't give up on us, there's plenty here who understand the game, and we need those people to stick around and fight the good fight, including you.

Matt Millen is the smartest GM ever, hire immediately! He believes in QB's and WR's #1 year after year after year after...

I'm just keeping a list of the naysayers and making sure they pay thier dues when it's time to jump on the bandwagon.
