Basically, unless you have an elite corner, the big, fast elite wr will destroy a corner in single coverage.
Wright is an above average corner that knew he was outclassed and once he realized it, he honestly looked like he was half assing it.

I don't think he was half-assing it. I think you're on to something about a above average corner getting beat honestly by an elite WR. Everyone here will vouch for Anquan Boldin's ability at the position, and he made Wright, and our entire secondary by asociation, look bad.
Even an elite corner like Revis can be made to look like a chump by an elite WR like Randy Moss, the only difference is Revis had that "nagging injury" that he used promptly to deflect attention from the fact that Moss BURNED him with an awesome TD catch.
I think the fact of the matter is, the man in charge of our defensive strategies failed to realize that one of our players was continually being exploited, and that's the kind of failed observation that can cost you a football game...
