Basically, unless you have an elite corner, the big, fast elite wr will destroy a corner in single coverage.
Wright is an above average corner that knew he was outclassed and once he realized it, he honestly looked like he was half assing it.
But was he really half assing it or was he just outclassed that bad?
I don't think he was half-assing it. I think you're on to something about a above average corner getting beat honestly by an elite WR. Everyone here will vouch for Anquan Boldin's ability at the position, and he made Wright, and our entire secondary by asociation, look bad.

Even an elite corner like Revis can be made to look like a chump by an elite WR like Randy Moss, the only difference is Revis had that "nagging injury" that he used promptly to deflect attention from the fact that Moss BURNED him with an awesome TD catch.

I think the fact of the matter is, the man in charge of our defensive strategies failed to realize that one of our players was continually being exploited, and that's the kind of failed observation that can cost you a football game...

oh wait...

I think that's about all the point I need to make.

Weeden gives us a QB with skills McCoy does not have.
Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades!
The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year.

WOOF WOOF WOOF!

And we all ripped on Dabs for letting StClair get abused by guys like Dumerville and never make adjustments, and we still rip on his inability to make adjustments today.
One bad game, I'm happy to point it out, but if it becomes an every game thing we know we've got the wrong guy.
