True, but how long before Jason Campbell proved to be the same exact Jason Campbell he was elsewhere? And he can show halfway decent numbers thanks to the parts of the game following competition over, which we commonly know as junktime compensation stats vrs prevent defenses yielding uncontested yardage underneathe in exchange for clock burning.
Every time I watch the Raiders - I seem to see another ex-Brown (Charlie Frye or Bruce Gradkowski) starting over first round QBs like Jamarcus Russell and Jason Campbell.
At some point, someone has to call a spade is a spade.
I WILL admit - the Offensive Coordinator that couldn't help Alex Smith at all is helpign Jay Cutler. Although Cutler had 2 INTs that were nullified by penalty at home so I'll withhold judgement until I see him better 8 wins for the first time ever as a pro that went to winning teams.
NOBODY liked bringing up his 26 INTs in Chicago last year on the same team that was 9-7 with the game manager they couldn't send packing quick enough. It looks like Martz is doing some nice work with him now that one of the fastest WRs in the NFL (Johnny Know per Indy 40) is getting put into the game plans. I still don't see an elite QB but if he can refrain from the ill-timed INTs - I might say I'm starting to see somewhat of a good leader. I've always held his poise in question when it's time to win a game. He had an ill-advised underthrow intercepted in traffic but lucky for him there was a little bit of contact while 1 GB defender was intercepting the ball.
It also helps when Devin Hester scores on STs and shortens the field well enough for another score.
