Certainly WRs affect QBs and vice versa; there's no way to know which side is affecting the other more from a fan perspective.

What we DO know, however, is that rookie/young WRs do not generally perform at a high level without superior QB play. And in the case of MoMass and Robo, it may not be fair to judge them by any standard criteria given how horrible our QB situation has been the last 2 years.

Meaning, not only are they facing the usual rookie/young WR growing pains, it is entirely possible their development has been retarded by the, well, retarded QBs they've been forced to play with.

And now, the vet who was supposed to help them grow up was injured in the 2nd quarter of their 1st game together.

In short, nothing has gone right for either guy so I'm not comfortable writing either one off.

Damajuki:
I agree it is too early to write off Momass or Robo.. HOWEVER.. stuckey will never be more than a fill in. Cribbs is in year 6 and is now seeming to prove he can be average.. Point is.. regardless of who is on the roster right now.. We need to get serious about beefing up the recieving corps.. more weapons the better. We need 2 more serious recievers on this team regardless of where Robo and Momass progress to/or don't..this year. .... (and yes..still need a long term QB)

Agreed completely on Stuckey, nothing I've seen from him since we brought him in has lead me to believe that he would even make up for a portion of what Braylon Edwards did bring to our offense (which, decidedly wasn't much except for heartbreaking drop after drop) and I'm not sold on MoMass or Robo either. At least Josh Cribbs has had a productive season so far, maybe that will quell some of those who thought he would NEVER be a productive WR on this team.

Weeden gives us a QB with skills McCoy does not have.
Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades!
The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year.

Stuckey looked like our best WR today, the only one with quicks. He and Cribbs are moving ahead of both Mo and Robo (is he still hurt?).

Mo just never seems to be open. I think he's drawing the other team's top corner... and he's just not that guy.

Obviously, our defense continues to keep us in games (4 games, 20 points is the most we've given up) and our line and running game are good. The passing game isn't a debacle like last year, but we clearly lack the franchise QB or true #1 WR.

I hate seeing that Shipley is already performing so well. We had a lot of WRs we could have picked in round 3.

I watched some of Kolb in this game after Vick went out... This guy was terrible..he looked lost and totally unprepared... he immediatly threw to his checkdowns when the downfield guy was obviouly open..sometimes WIDE open.. I watched Washington defenders drop pass after pass after pass.... that should have been a mulitple interception game...

If this is any indication of what this guy is like ... THEY CAN KEEP HIM.. I DON"T WANT HIM.. I would rather take my chances on Luck or Ponder or some other first or 2nd round candidate in the draft next year.. Wow.. amazing suckage. I realize he was not supposed to play... but he looked totally unprepared and lost.. That should not happen for a guy who is supposedly as good as he is supposed to be.

Kolb looked pretty sucky. We'll see how he does prepped to start next week. Not much to recommend him today, though.

I saw a little of the game too...and I was hoping Kolb would light it up (for many reasons). But yeah, he looked really bad (okay not DA bad, but close).

I actually was wondering if he just wasn't even trying.

A guy I follow on Twitter called watching Kevin Kolb play like "watching someone beat up on a kid with crutches" which I thought was absolutely hilarious.

He's got to show something unless he wants his stock to completely drop. I'm thinking dropping like Trent Edwards proportions here. (as, once upon a time, Edwards stock was somewhat high)

I think it was really funny too that Donovan McNabb said the Eagles made a mistake getting rid of him when he was awarded the game ball afterward. Of course, that was a slip but either way I thought that was pretty funny. With Vick now hurt, The Eagles could be in a similar situation as Arizona. Thought I would automatically assume that Kolb could play better than Derek Anderson.
