I acknowledge your douchiness, Masters. I see you. I hear you. You exist.

With that put to rest... did the Bengals play a 3-4 prior to this year? I didn't know they changed.

Yes, Rey-Rey is good. And Seneca continues to play at a level Delhomme can barely remember at his age. There's no reason to make a switch this season.

Alex Smith having a nice bounce back game. Sanchez continuing Pro Bowl drive. Clausen got his first TD pass, only allowed to throw 8 times in the half (!).

I do value you, M: You're like the last guy saying, "Screw all this harmony! I'm a douchebag and proud of it!"

Can we quote you on that?

Yes. Well, prior to the last seven years they ran the 3-4. They haven't ran it since 2003.

Why are we talking about Maualuga? I'm the biggest draft geek here, and even I think you guys are too obsessed with being proven right.

I could swear the Bengalas were 3-4 last year. C'mon... I think that's the case. Somebody or other wrote that Maualuga had a great year stuffing the run, mostly taking on blockers for the other ILB to clean up the tackle.

I don't think their 3-4 was 7 years ago.

Think what you like, it still remains they converted to the 4-3 in 2003 after Lebeau was fired. Maualuga plays SAM in their D out of position. They SHOULD run the 3-4, their personnel is GEARED for the 3-4 but no, they run and have ran the 43 for over half of a decade.

The person who wrote "Maualuga had a great year stuffing the run, mostly taking on blockers for the other ILB to clean up the tackle." must have been some hack blogger, and someone who didn't watch a down of Cincy's D last season.

No, it was actually on NFLN, I think. They were showing a lot of footage of him. I don't think it was an article, and I think I brought it up at the time. Then again, that might be a symptom of the stroke.
