Default TJ Ward, please accept my man-crush

Quote:
On third-and-goal, Palmer's pass intended for Shipley was incomplete, but Ward delivered a forearm to Shipley's head in the end zone and was nailed with a penalty, giving the Bengals an automatic first down. Shipley laid dazed with a concussion and was helped off the field.
The Bengals felt Ward was excessive.
"A ridiculous play," Owens said. "The guy's defenseless. I just hate to see a guy get hit like that in the head. For him to take a cheap shot like that, that's uncalled for. At one point, I thought he was out cold. His eyes were rolling in the back of his head. You never want to see a teammate in that situation."
Ward didn't see anything wrong with his hit, which will likely draw a hefty fine from the league.
"I hit him with my shoulder," Ward said. "They (Bengals) tried to yap at me, but I ignored them. I would do it again."

Say what?!! A defensive player that hits people hard and makes no apologies for it despite the "political" climate of the NFL right now in regards to hard hits?

I've been impressed with Ward from day one, but that comment there cemented it for me. Between him and Hillis we are developing a very nasty attitude as a team and I love it. Ward was brilliant to say what he did. He's letting every receiver know that whatever fine the league gives him will not deter him in the slightest from making the same hit on them if they try and catch the ball around him.

For the first time in a VERY VERY VERY LOOOONG time, receivers going against the Browns will hear footsteps, and our pass defense will be better for it.

Thank God for this bright spot, the abortion that has been the play of Eric Wright the past two weeks has made me sick....

Just remember, that was Brown who got beat for the TO TD pass, and fell down.

You leave your CBs playing on an island as much as CLE does, they are going to get burnt a good number of times.

If you're gonna blitz and leave your cover guys exposed, you really need to GET THERE... and the Browns blitzes seem to get picked up way too easily.

I had a post ready to go on my other cpu at work, but apparently I didn't hit submit. I will when I get back.

As to the blitz causing these secondary issues I def believe there is something to that, HOWEVER...thats no excuse for Wright to have just piss poor position on his man, or lacking the effort required to break up a pass.

Very true PGL. Yesterday both Wright and Brown got picked on several times by Palmer.

YouTube - TJ WARD IS A FOOTBALL PLAYER.
Good to see the Browns mystique me finally be returning. It disappeared the day Modell moved the team and it hasn't been back since. (edit) Between Hillis' play yesterday and this hit, lady's and gentleman THIS IS CLEVELAND BROWNS FOOTBALL.

I wasn't referring to the long TD, I know that was Brown, but you can't make excuses for Wright's play these past two weeks. If I didn't know better I would of thought Wright caught his old lady cheating. His entire body langauge shouts "defeated" when he's been on the field.

And I would say a good 60% of TO's yards came against Wright...

He needs to be moved to the Nickel till he gets his shit together.

I'm convinced his problem is mental

You know it's almost "WORTH A FINE" to show other receivers around the league that we have a HITTER/ENFORCER SAFETY. Claim it on his taxes as an "advertising expense".
