At 6'6", 285 pounds, Mitchell will play 3-4 end. He hasn't done much with the Vikings, but he's young (26) and has flashed in pre-season action. He'll probably be our most athletic five technique.

He notched 2 sacks and 4 TFL in the pre-season. Some people think he's an emerging player, which makes it curious that Minnesota gave him up for close to nothing.

He's a little miscast in a 4-3, right? This is one of those trades that really benefits the player and the new team more than the old team... like Corey Williams going back to a 4-3. The value is all hypothetical so the price can't be too high.

We've had so much luck with under the radar guys lately (Hillis, Moore, Roth)... I'm kinda psyched.

I was hoping i'd open this and you'd say Marcus Spears(whom the Cowboys have shopped earlier in the year) was a Brown. Damn.

We do need some Dline help. It seems we are really thin there and a play away from not having any depth there. I like it, cant hurt especially for the price.

I know its not popular but I hope we pull the trigger on Kolb. I like his ball. Really nice. Just needs more time to get his decision making down. Whats the price tag at now? Cant be to high.... Well I guess Vick just got hurt so it would make no sense.

ANyhow, we should be making a trade for a WR. We need one bad. Or draft high next year. Green, Jones..... Alo, I think I asked you in another thread (not to get off topic, sorry) but what do you think about the Hankerson kid from Miami? Why does he not get any love ever? I like him alot.

interesting the pick is in 2 years..not next year. We got the guy nearly for free.late round probably means 5,6,7 in 2 years... So.. lets hope the kid has something to add. We KNOW we need DE help desperately. So sounds like he's worth a shot since he comes cheap.

As for trading for Kolb.. Vick getting hurt may be a huge blessing as we get another chance to see him play.. Week one was bad..last weeks fill in was bad.. so it could be a real blessing.. especially if Kolb ends up sucking.. and save us from making a big mistake... If he plays well.. then it is still a blessing because then you at least know your getting a guy who can play.

I was hoping it would have said that we traded our whole 2011 draft away for Peyton Manning or something.

that's exactly what I thought when I heard it in the car today. Rogers certainly isnt at the top of his trade value but I doubt if his value is going to get any higher at this point.

Browns acquire DL Mitchell
by Don Delco of theOBR.com, October 5, 2010 at 6:18pm ET

Jayme Mitchell Profile

On Tuesday afternoon, the Browns traded a late-round draft pick to Minnesota for defensive lineman Jayme Mitchell, as reported by NFL Network's Jason La Canfora. Mitchell (6-foot-6, 285 pounds) is a five-year pro who has played in 29 games. He played his college ball at Mississippi (2003-05). A knee injury cost Mitchell his 2008 season and last year he played in five games for the Vikings, including the NFC Championship game. This year, he has one sack in two games, which brings his career total to five sacks.

Sounds like a replacement for Clifton Geathers.

Still kinda upset we cut him so early, though.
