McCoy is 50/50 disappointing defense

I am happy about this..Anyone who looks at the pre draft will see I was 100% against drafting a 1st round QB.. I said I don't like this class..but IF we draft someone.. I think McCoy had the most potential.. So while I was not estatic about the pick...I was pleased we at least go the one guy ..i thought could make it.. I just loved the fact that the kid WINS and he battles.. He did not win today..but you can see he is a battler.. and he looks like a guy who can play QB in this league.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised. I had ZERO hope for him today and the way it started off, my hope went down to the "Please God don't let him get hurt because we have no one (interesting) left to play" level very quickly.

But then...he didn't self-destruct. He didn't give up. He didn't throw DA-esque picks to wide open MLBs. He didn't throw Delhommian picks falling down to the ground. He didn't fumble any snaps. He only had a few Quinnian lapses of staring downfield and throwing nowhere (or incomplete).

His picks were respectable. His scrambling was stellar. His TD pass was excellent.

All in all, I didn't feel I was watching a rookie in the second half and that's SAYING something. He was poised as hell on those last drives.

Count me in the start Colt camp. In fact, I'll start the Rise of Colt thread in a moment.

Oh, and count Shep in that camp too. He asked me to pass on that he thought Colt looked "very credible" and playing him to see what he does gives "purpose" to the season.

Can't wait to see more against lesser defenses myself!
