Default Bring in Gruden!

With 3/8th of the season gone, I'd like to give an assessment/do some venting:

First, McCoy showed some promise today. He had happy feet at first, but showed improved pocket presence as the game went on.

I love bruising RBs like Hillis, especially when they rack up the FROs (Folks Run Over). I wish he had a tad more speed, though.

MoMass "might" make a decent #2 WR. It would be nice to have a reliable #1 so we could see how Mo would fare at #2.

Stuckey is better than Robiskie and has been fairly solid as the 3rd down/possession receiver.

As I've always said before, B-Mac was, is, and always will be better than Eric Wright.

Why isn't Haden starting?

Sheldon Brown has seen better days.

Ward is not a CB, but I like him as the SS.

Elam leaves something to be desired.

Our pass defense is the most disgusting thing on earth when faced with 3rd and long. Been that way for years.

Last, and least, our coaches need to get their heads out of their asses and see what we've been seeing all season long.

Bring in Gruden!

Ryan got outcoached by Ariens big time. They pretty much destroyed our packages. Wright sucks yadda yadda, but Ryan got lit up.

Come on Al! Once Gruden got all his hand selected players in Tampa his choice at QB was Gradkowski or Frye at QB to replace the injured Chris Simms. He won a SUperbolw with Dungy's hand selected defense scoring 4 TDs while the Gruden offense just had to not lose it.

BTW, Joe Haden AND TJ Ward are looking like very good draft picks. Colt McCoy is already our best QB. Luvao showed promise as an OG when healthy in the preseason. This MIGHT have been a really good draft.

This alleged All Continent Cornerback Eric Wright that Savage drafted SUCKS gopher nipples. Who's kidding who? Wathc the Steeler highlights and tell me how many times yuou see #21 in the center of your television screen on their TDs.

Meanwhile, we can REALLY count on Shaun Rogers to be interested in playign can't we? And guiess who has been just as interested the last 3 years? The highest paid free agent punter in the league known as David Zastudil.

Just out of curiosity, how many times did the guy Mangin found to replace Zastudil place Pittsburgh inside their 10 yard line today? Yaaa, fire the coach! It's worked every freakin time since we brought in Bud Carson.

Can I just ask how superior Bill Belichick's intelligence looked when he he treated us to Todd Philcox at QB? Don't you think this has a little bit to do with it all? If not, consider this. NE was winless with Bledsoe the SAME year Brady made BB look like a defensive genious all the way to the final whoste of Superbnowl Sunday. Hmmmmmm!

If all we've ever needed to do was fire the Head Coach - the problem would have been solved as early as Bud Carson. And was it? If you dodn't like Mangini - you ought to resreach what Tampa looked like once they became ALL of Gruden's personnel decisions. They've been draftigj ahead of us quite a bit the last 5 years so that's not the answer.

Worh noting: I was VERY proud of Colt McCoy today. I thought this would be the worst possible team to make his first start against. I walked away understanding who our BEST QB is right now.

Actually, I liked the hiring of Mangini.

I'm just frustrated with some of the players the coaches choose to start, notably Wright.

All Gruden did was win a superbowl with the awesome team Dungy built..then ran it into the toilet.. He's ok...but he's no saviour.

Did Dungy win a SB with that team in TB? Nope. Gruden came in and got them over the hump. Most notably because he could make pretty much anyone work at QB. He is also the man who had the Raiders a tuck rule away from the superbowl. He also didn't run TB into the toilet, their front office did. Between the draft picks they gave up to hire Gruden, and the ones they wasted, that team fell apart because they couldn't replenish the talent.

I am not clamoring for hire Gruden, but the dismissal of what the guy has actually accomplished as a head coach completely baffles me. The guy can coach and the guy can win. His track record shows it.

I agree to a point. As you know I still believe Mangini deserves at least another year. But IF Mangini is fired, I have no qualms having Gruden be considered as one of his replacements. With Holmgren and Heckert above him I agree with Masters, Gruden is the type of coach that would do well under a strong front office.

I don't know if Mangini deserves another year after this year Golfer. I need to see how the rest of the season plays out still. But if I had to make a decision based only on the games he's coached to date, I'd say he doesn't deserve another year. The guy makes to many errors as a HC imo. It seems like every week there are some questionable decisions, be it personal, time management, use of challenges, or something else. But a decision doesn't have to be made today. He's got 10 more games to earn a 3rd year as HC.

whether or not mangini is gone something has to be done about dabs. Bring in someone else to call the offensive plays... or at the very least buy him a copy of madden and a bigger box of crayons.

What team did Gruden play in the Super Bowl?

Gruden is an excellent coach and I think some team is signing this guy in 2011.
