Ive been trying to find a clip of the hit on MoMass have only seen the one on Cribbs. Then I happen to stumble upon this James Harrison Knocks Out Browns Cribbs & Massaquoi – Video Animated Gifs | Steelers Depot Blog its like they're proud of the "cheap shots" that knocked out two of our players. Even called the one on Cribbs clean... Im sorry he hit helmet to helmet. That makes it dirty, whether it was intentional or not.

actually it is a little different... ward got a flag for a "helmet to helmet" hit. But he lead with his shoulder. Harrison hits two times with his helmet and ohhh its clean hits.

I agreed with the flag when Ward made the hit. However, Harrison wasn't penalized for either hit Sez. If the NFL is gonna tell us they're very serious about protecting players - then be consistent with protecting them. We had 2 players that needed to be carried off the field because they had head injuries. There's tackling somebody to end a play and then there's a guy in the video head hunting. It's basically understanding the difference between a football player and an asshole. Harrison beats his wife so I think the answer is pretty straight forward. Speaking of Harrisons, Rodney Harrison said on a post game show that a little fine was only pocket change never swayed him from future fines. However a suspension carried alot more weight in deterring similar actions in the future. - Tom F.

It doesn't surprise me that they would be "proud" of the hit. We did a little of the same when Pig Ben was carted off after a hit either last year or the year before. I don't like that there was no penalty called on that. These guys could care less about fines, they make $$$$$'s. A fine means little. What WOULD have hurt the team was the penalty. THAT would make the coaches pay a little more attention. |

What makes this hit especially dirty is the technique Harrison used when coming in for the tackle. His head is completely down and he's leading with the TOP OF HIS HELMET. That's called spearing, and it's not a new rule, it's been around for ages. It's illegal for a reason, and the officiating crew is going to have to explain why they didn't throw a flag for that one. And since Harrison did it twice in one game, if the league is to have any sense of respect and decency they will suspend Harrison for at least one game and a fine of at least 15,000. They need to start suspending players for shit like that. Even Rodney Harrison said as much on Sunday night football. He said he put away 50K a year just to pay fines and he didn't care about the money. He'd rather have the reputation. He then went onto say that when he got suspended then he was forced to take a step back. And the difference between this hit and the one Ward laid was that Ward was clearly leading with his shoulder pad, which would be a LEGAL hit.

In my opinion The Rooneys must have a referee retirement account set up or something because they always get all the calls. I can see Harrison getting away with the hit on Cribbs but the hit on Momass? That was in plain view for the whole world to see - the refs need to be fined for not making that call. Mangini should have been on the field chewing some zebras ass and where were Momass's team mates to defend him? Nobody defended Delhomme either when Suh tried to rip off his head - I'm starting to think this team is spineless. If I'm a coach and see an asshole, cheapshot MFer just take out two of my guys - I send a couple of my biggest bad asses on the team to "block" him hard enough to take him out for at least the rest of the game. Call it what you will but this is a violent game and bullies and the cheapshots won't stop until they get a taste of their own medicine. I would rather take one unnecessary roughness penalty then let dirty players think they can get away with something but taking out my players. |

| Harrison was also holding repeatedly on Vickers. They had a plan of him grabbing Vickers by the shoulder pads and pulling him down before he could get upfield to block. Saw it at least twice right out in the open, and this is supposed to be blatant defensive holding.
