Default Start Colt for the rest of the year.

Ok, we're 2-5, we're playing extremely tough, gritty football and our 3rd round rookie QB has come off the bench with virtually no first team reps and has kept us in games, and more importantly played virtually mistake free football. No killer turnovers, and he's come up with drives right when we need them. If we are truly all about building for the future, I don't see what JDH or SW can provide this team that Colt isn't already, and I think it's really important we get 10 games of him to know what we want to do in the draft come april.

Had we won a few of those close ones and were at 4-3 or something like that then I could possibly see giving it back to one of the vets because playoffs would still be in our future, but lets face it. That ain't happening this year. Let the kid get his legs up under him, and see if we finally found a diamond in the 3rd round.

Its a great dream but we never seen to have a QB that can finish the season off of the IR.

Well I think Colt has the wheels and presence of mind to avoid the pass rush to that degree.

And if he does get hurt, then JDH or SW will be ready to jump back in there...

Colt is doing fantastic job so far but he need to improve his percentage completion on 3rd downs. But it will improve when we face weaker teams

Good point on the killer turnovers. Delhomme has yet to prove he's changed his ways last year, Wallace has also had some killer turnovers as well, and McCoy has given every reason to keep throwing him out there.

Where the heck is Shep with all of this QB talk going on?

I agree, keep Colt starting the rest of the year......it's not like the other 2 QB's we have are All Pro's that are great. Let's see what we have in Colt this year. He is not making stupid mistakes that are killing the team, and should get better as he gets more experience.

OK, I'm on board with this decision. Get Mangini on the hot line and make this happen!

He isn't acting like a rookie at all, love his presence and how he carries himself. If someone would have told me there were two pick sixes in the New Orleans game I would have naturally assumed they came from Colt and not Brees.

For what it's worth, against PIT the O completed 46% of their third downs (6/13).

Can you imagine how well Colt would be doing if he had decent receivers to throw to? Or a pro style game plan from a competent offensive coordinator?

Daboll is king for the week for all his ballsy calls on Sunday, but he has a long way to go to win me over.

I didn't know Daboll made any ballsy calls except for the halfback throwback to the QB. The ballsy calls were on special teams and probably had to be appproved by Mangini.

Decent WR? Won't matter until Colt learns how to pass(if ever) in the NFL. You are still not getting the QB problems in that regard.
