The Cleveland Browns added a receiver who should be very familiar to AFC North fans. Cleveland announced Tuesday that it signed former Baltimore Ravens receiver Demetrius Williams. The team also claimed running back Thomas Clayton off the New England Patriots' practice squad and released James Davis and Yamon Figurs. Williams played for the Ravens from 2006-09 and was cut earlier this year. He showed flashes of talent in Baltimore but had problems staying healthy. But Williams may have a shot to stick in Cleveland, because receiver is one of the team's biggest needs. Browns add WR Demetrius Williams - AFC North Blog - ESPN |

He's always been a player with a lot of buzz surrounding his name and given how bleak our WR situation is here, it wouldn't be difficult for him to stand out if he wanted to. Catch the ball, make plays, get first downs, help us win more than hurt us. That's all I ask for any of our players. Our WR's aren't doing much to help our offense at all. If Demitrius Williams can be a guy to give our offense some spark, so be it.

Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades! The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

Huge upgrade from figurs.. I could not figur that one out anyway ha ha ha. Williams can run and catch..his main problem is that he is ALWAYS hurt.. but he can help us way more than Figurs ever would.

Whatever happened to Bobby Engram? He looked like he was at least emergency services material in spite of his age. Is Antonio Bryant worth working out to see if his legs have healed up? That guy runs great routes even though he's hot and cold with the hands. Too bad we couldn't interest Buffalo in a swap of Shaun Rogers for Lee Evans right about now. Lee Evans grew up in Cleveland dreaming about playing in Cleveland so it's always nice to bring in somebody talented that WANTS to come to Cleveland. Vincent Jackson would have been another good guy to consider for a trade considering injuries to an area of the team that wasn't talent deep and is now compounded by injuries. Stuckey seemes to be having a good year for us. Cribbs is at least drawing penalty flags on 2 different occasions deep and has 1 long distance TD reception. That's why it's nice to see deep passes staying in bounds when they aren't centerfield post patterns. I'm worried that trauma to MoMoss is gonna lead to alot of dropsies and taking the eyes off the ball. And Robo remains a mystery. Folks, Robo got alot of predraft love by more than just Cleveland if we read many of the scouting reports and magazines leading up to the draft. He's gotta get on with the carpet diem thing or he'll miss his window of opportunity here. - Tom F.
