He called 2 good games and has been abysmal in virtually every other. He deserved to be fired before, had the season ended after 4 or 5 games he would be gone. He's had some good games but that doesn't erase everything else he has done. It removed some fire from the hot seat but if he comes out next week and shits the bed he's going to be right back on it. He gets praise today but he has to continue.

To be honest, Flugs...I'm really wondering if someone (MH perhaps?) gave Dabs some pointers or something over the last two weeks. But, I'm guessing that the play calling will continue to improve as Colt (and Dabs to some extent) grow more comfortable and confident in their plays. And as the entire offense sort of comes together as a unit...instead of pieces parts. I'm encouraged, but not completely sold on Dabs yet. But a game like today will certainly start to change my mind. |

Nah, the play calling has looked better since McCoy was given the reigns. I'm sure MH, Mangini, and Haskell have all been trying to help Dabs out ...but none of them are idiots and understand what he has had to work with ...which is why he's still here.

Dabs has had ONE good game, ONE decent game and SUCKED the rest. That's 2 acceptable games out of 24 and that sure as hell isn't lighting the world on fire if you ask me. We, as Browns fans, too often think that all it takes is 1-2 good games to "emerge" as elite, don't fall into that bs.

You forgot the part about McCoy NEEDING a straight up WCO to have even marginal success and compete at a Jeff Garcia level, Tom. ![]() The "experts" said so ya know, meanwhile I seem to be currectamundo in my earlier statements that if those "experts" were worth a shit they'd work for the NFL. As for Daboll, sure if he keeps calling good games i'll be a believer. I still would like Callahan as OC though. Nothing against Daboll on that, it's just business. Callahan is a great OC and it's kind of a surprise noone grabbed him up to do that. Same with Ryan, I like the guy but if a Dom Capers or Mike Nolan(3rd times a charm?) became available i'd make the switch. |

Dabs knew he was on the hot seat with Homgren's presser this week. He rose to the challenge. It's highly commendable. Dabs' did a super job today. Jimmy Pickle got benched again and looks way worse with more playing time than McCoy.. Don't mean to pat myself on the back..but I hated Pickles in the draft.. He is proving me right.. I was against any QB..... but McCoy... Not that I hailed McCoy.. I was for a later QB pick (if we took one at all).. I just thought McCoy had the most upside in a weak class... The Browns.. AS A TEAM.. played the best and most complete game of football today I can really remember seeing since the return.. A++ grade.. amazing.

I agree with the little to no talent, but when 22 of 24 games are so bad the team walks to the line and you KNOW what play is about to be ran by formation then you can't put that all on the talent. No one has ever said elite, but too many people around here want to use one game, sometimes two, all too often as examples that some one has emerged. That was my entire point. So has Dabs shown he CAN be an offensive coordinator at the NFL level? Yes. Has Dabs shown he CAN be an offensive coordinator at the NFL level consistently? No. It's going to take more than one good game to sell me.

Is this game enough to save Dabs job????.. doubtful..I'm just glad he is opening it up some more. Holmgren's presser appeared to light a fire.. that's good.. . HEY.. a WR actually led the team in catches and yards today woohooo!!!
