Holy shit, just looked up the game summary. ![]() Jets had 91 offensive plays compared to our 59. Holy smokes. Some were our fault with 3-and-outs, but that monster 3Q drive of theirs ate a ton of clock. Time of possession was 47:08 vs 27:36. Even in a 5 quarter game we didn't get our 2 quarters worth. You may say we didn't stop the run, but their backs averaged 3.4 yards per carry (on a really tired defense) while Hillis averaged 4.3 on a fresh "best in the NFL" defense. He had 18 carries for 82 yards. Heck, 5 more carries and he'd have been over 100 yards. I'm really happy with the effort, bumbed that we were a fumble away from being just 2 games back in the division (coupled with the Pats win over the Steelers), and crossing my fingers that we don't have a let-down game this coming Sunday.

When I was at the Atlanta game I saw the exact same thing. He and Massaquoi were wide open constantly, but nobody ever gave them looks. It's possible they are taking too long to get the seperation and our QBs are going to their next reads. |

| I was at the game as well, and unless I'm mistaken Wright actually started the game as the nickle, and Haden and Brown were the corners, Wright then slid in and took over for Brown after Failin Edwards kindly jammed his helmet into Brown's shoulder 5-6 times on the ground. Still baffled there was no flag for a personal foul.

Was working during the game. I got the updates and saw the highlights but just finished watching the replay and, folks, we've got alot to be proud of and even more to look forward to. This loss will not stop us and barring the injury bug we will win more than we lose the rest of the way. 13 qtrs. against the NFL's elite and we're still standing and BARKING. Sure we need some players and we'll get them but the feeling I left with is alot different than the ones I've had in previous losses. This team will grow week to week and just never quit. Can you tell I'm a fan? |

I believe the key of this game is stopping the Jags run game.. Garrard is accurate and heck and rarely turns over the ball. They may be without their #1 WR Simms-Walker Sunday. but the do have other guys who can play. They beat you with play action and Garrard is good at it. They also need to keep him contained.. He can run.. We have been terrible at allowing the QB to escape and make plays against us this year.. QB's always seem to "just barely" escape our sacks.. The D needs to play under controll. The front 7 win or lose this game this week vs the run.

The one thing about the matchup last week is that it went to overtime; because the Jets couldn't punctuate alot of their time consuming drives with TDs in lieu of FG attempts (2 of which they missed). When they DID score their TDs - it was usually because somebody got smart and said: "let's just find Eric Wright and make things easier." Reality is Cleveland was pretty much a fumble at the NY 35 yard line away from finishing that team off. Let's hope the Browns respond the way we think they can and take it out on Jax the same way they did it with NE and New Orleans. I think this team has turned the corner for the better twice now. It started to compete with regularity in the 2nd half of 2009 (in comparison to the last half of 2008 and 1st half of 2009). The 2nd time this franchise turned the corner was the day Colt McCoy took over the offense. When EVERYONE has bought in that their efforts are worth it -the Browns have beaten NE, New Orleans and pressed the Jets well beyond 60 minutes of regulation. - Tom F.

I saw this Rob Ryan Quote in the thread about Haden being close to starting.. I am a fan of Jags RB Maurice Jones Drew..He scares me this week....but I love Rob Ryan's colorful way of describing him. "This guy plays with unbelievable fire and [shoot] he's hard to tackle. Like we say, he's like tackling a chainsaw. He's a load and he's got that stiff-arm going for him and he's lightning quick. This guy has got all of our respect, he's got our attention." He is priority number one to win this week. He's 5th in the nfl right now among all RB's and can catch pretty well too.

it is fairly even game and Jets only won due to luck and having better receivers than us. Cleveland lost because they didn't have the luck as the receiver didn't go off the line at vital moment. It is one of those days when every inches matter.

Rob Ryan was Right.. Tackling MJD was like tackling a chainsaw today and he chopped up our D. He broke tackles all day.. especially the long run..that was the backbreaker.
