Nice. I groaned at first, thinking this was going to be a simple "white RB" story but I liked the line summing it up: "In Hillis' case, some people will see race attached to this story and assume it's an attempt to be controversial. It's actually just an attempt to be honest." Dude is getting his shot and he's maximizing it. Gotta love that. And what is REALLY great is that his race isn't the reason he's popular, his RUNNING STYLE is. Last guy that I can think of that ran like this at this size was maybe Bo Jackson or Tecmo Bowl-Christian Okoye. |

Hillis is a flat out bitch badass with mad game. When Dave Logan said he had the best hands he had ever seen, I was intrigued. I recalled him running all over us when Queen got his first start, but who the hell knew the dude was this bad? I started getting more intrigued in preseason watching him hit holes so fast, then came the show as it is. Guy is unbelievable, way more skills than most backs in the league. How in the hell do you miss this as a coaching staff like Denver's? Those cats should be fired, I would be absolutely ON THEIR SHIT from such a moronic trade, plus they drafted Moreno high. Forget the white boy comparisons, there are none. Alstott couldn't hold his jock and guys like Czonka and Riggins had half his speed and game. I've never seen anything quite like him. Now, just hold onto the ball Peyton!!!

Hillis runs with a ton of power but for a guy of his size he's surprisingly nimble and athletic and he's a much better receiver out of the backfield than I ever gave him credit for. He's been a huge part of the teams progression this season and it's due to Hillis growing into his own as a running back as well. He was never this explosive with the Broncos, partially due to not getting his shot in Denver, but he always showed the potential. He was the steal of the trade for a reason, largely due in part because Hillis was going to get playing time on our team. Brady Quinn will be lucky to take another snap in the NFL. Anyway this was a great read, thanks for sharing it!

Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades! The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

It really bothers me to see articles like this but at the same time that is his appeal to many fans. It's easy to hide behind a keyboard and not be honest but the truth of the matter is if he wasn't white he wouldn't be getting so much attention. There is no denying that the kid has exceptional skills(minus the ball control)but this kid has been a boost for the team and town and I really hope it all is justified in what he does on the field rather than the elephant in the room. Let me close by saying I'm not trying to be controversial or pick a fight with anyone but this is a conversation that I have had with many people in person and when it all gets broken down race has always been in the equation, not the final end all be all but it has been part of the "likability" in this story to the people I have spoken with.
