remember Baxter getting injured?
Weve had bad luck with corners |
Like him or hate him, cutting Bmac was a head scratcher after the preseason he had. I realize when he played with a seperated shoulder in 09 - it compromised his tackling quite a bit. THAT was the first difference I saw this preseason and it reminded me of the first time I noticed him where I asked
"WHO was that?" There must be more to it we don't know about because I think his next team dropped him pretty quickly too. He probably needs a Case Manager more thna he needs an agent. Either way, I think we'd see more effort than Wright gives.
The problem with Bodden as we learned after he got a contract extension in Cleveland is that his ankles are fragile. It's been the same story everywhere he's gone since. Not the same guy we remember.
Baxter was very overrated by Savage. Phil took the 3rd or 4th best corner in Baltimore and paid him #1 corner $ here. THEN, he got injured like a lot of the high dollar investments in Cleveland have over the years.
Hence, if you can draft and develop players from the mid to late rounds just as easily as you can select the picks of the litter in round 1 - you don't need to overpay and overcommit to so many FAs without upside like: Kevin Shaffer, Shaun Smith, Joe Andruzzi, Jason Fisk, Corey Williams, Antwaan Peek, Shante Orr, Ted Washington, Matt Stewart, Donte Stallworth, etc.
Just out of curiosity, how's the Randy Moss Savings and Loan show doing this year? Well, they showed a pass that was about 10 inches over his helmet that he never even lifted his hands up for on the Nashville News. He's the type that if he's on an undefeated team - he's gonna feel his efforts are worth it. If he's on the Raiders team of 4 years ago or Minnesota or Nashville of this year - he'll cash the big paychecks but don't expect him to sweat on game day.
